Germany in name only. Blended locally but it's not about where the oil is from either. When I was riding a 125, many of us with the same bike tried that oil. It's harsh and doesn't seem to do it's job as advertised. Subjective visual comparison of used oil with other brands also indicate higher deterioration.

The worst was when the spark plugs from the same brand was found to have melted way before it's use by date. When a manufacturer tries to do too many things and can't even meet expectations let alone excel, I would stay clear.

It doesn't matter if you don't ride a Revo. A biker is a biker, bro and we welcome good input! :)

That was what I meant. Agreed. We as riders should help each other and avoid shops pushin these so called bogus stuff to fold up.

hey bro ramsnake, you got any idea if PR can take loans from bike shop? i heard from the bike shop that i buy my 2b bike PR cannot get loan (which i think its weird since banks are willing to loan to us).

can you help me clarify? looking to get 1 around december when bonus is out :cheeky:

thanks @ramsnake bro!

guess i should avoid that brand. engine oils like belray and agip are cheaper than that.

How much are belray and agip going for?

My one experience with agip was when I was going for a group trip and they sponsored FOC oil change. This was when I was riding a different bike. After the change, the engine felt a bit harsh also and the worst was that it lost a bit of power. Petrol consumption also went up, possible because I rev'ed a bit more to compensate. After one and a half weeks, I dumped the oil and went back to my previous oil brand.

When I went back to the shop which offered the free oil change, and told them what was happening, they had no answer. Asked them to change oil to my brand of choice at a discount as I didn't get to enjoy the "sponsored" oil, they said no. That's also the one and only time I visited the shop. LOL...

Some bike shops do provide financing to PRs, some don't. Most who do provide also ask for a guarantor, which is perfectly understandable. One shop even wanted PRs to show proof that they own they flat/condo/hse they live in. What-tha-F*#k!

By the way, I'm also a PR and I bought my bike with financing without needing to provide guarantor.

Shop around, bro.

AYE or PIE to Tuas

Tuas Checkpoint

At Tuas checkpoint, pay toll at immigration counter. Cashcard only. S$0.50

Exit SG checkpoint and ride for about 1.5km on 2nd Link Bridge.

MY Checkpoint

Keep left at MY checkpoint. Passport check at immigration booth. (Usually no customs check).

NSHW Toll

After immigration checkpoint, ride for about 600m to toll booth. Toll at RM1.10 payable with Touch n’ Go card only. For first timers without Touch n’ Go card, ride to the last toll both for bikes to purchase card. RM10 per card – RM5 admin fee + RM5 cash balance.

NSHW

After the toll booth, the first exit is about 800m away, which leads to Tanjung Pelepas.

Next exit is for Gelang Patah RnR. For bikers going further north, this is the usual stop. Petronas and Esso stations available here. Those who have very little fuel left might want to pump 1.5-2 litres here.

Next exit after Gelang Patah RnR is about 1.5-2km away. This is the nearest exit to U-turn back to Singapore. Take the exit and follow the road for about 800m. After a fast right hand bend, you should be able to see factory lots on the right. If you go at night, you should see neon signboards for a pub. U-turn at the junction that turns into the factory lots.

If you want to have dinner in Gelang Patah, do not U-turn. Go straight ahead for another 200m. At the traffic light junction, turn left. Non-halal hawker food is at a corner shop immediately on the left after turning at the lights. For halal food, go further up to the next set of lights and turn right towards the halal food shops.

Heading Home

Heading back to Singapore, follow the sign boards to head towards Tuas. Gelang Patah exit to RnR before MY immigration is about 1.8km. Safe to open throttle all the way on this stretch.

Stations available at Gelang Patah RnR are Petronas, Shell and Esso. When heading back to SG, keep left after exiting RnR. Pay RM1.10 toll with Touch n Go card. Then enter MY immigration checkpoint.

Ride 1.5km on 2nd Link bridge to enter SG Tuas checkpoint. Pay S$0.50 toll at immigration booth.

Busy periods:

Mon-Sat: 7am-9am, 4.30pm – 7.30pm

2nd Link is never as bad as Causeway. However, during busy periods it pretty jammed up. Stoopid gahmen only open at most 3-4 booths for bikers. During super busy periods the queue can be as long as 40 minutes.

You're welcome! :)

does bike shop allows PR to sign as guarantor? anyone care to advise on this?

Sorry, I'd missed replying to your PM.

It depends on the bike shop and income level of the PR who will be your guarantor. The shop I recommended you to should be ok with it.

No idean, man. Don't worry about it lah... Get your 2A first then can go to the shop and talk. The guy is quite reasonable so anything can be discussed and agreed upon...

Normal riding in SG should not be lower than 13.8. If the battery is weak do to many stop start within a few hours, it may go down to 13.5 as your battery is being charged.

13.2 is a sign that your battery is dying already. If it's more than 2 years old, its time to replace it. If your battery is new then it may mean that your rectifier or magnet coil may be failing.

So, how can you be sure? Ask your friendly mech to put in a good battery to test. They usually have a good spare one lying around. If the voltage reads 14.0-14.2v after about 2mins of idling, then the rectifier and coil is good. Change the battery.

If you live in the east, you might want to borrow my charger to see if the battery can still be rescued. PM me your HP number if you're interested.

cialat cialat.. mine avg voltage without the fan on is 13.6 - 13.7 lowest is when the fan is in used..13.3v.. and double swipes for the past few months confirms tat i need to change la like this..

How old is your battery? You might want to use a battery charger and charge it overnight to see if it can be rescued. Can borrow mine if you want.

If I'm changing the battery, I would buy a Lithium battery. Costs a bit more but it won't lose/leak the charge as much as a lead battery. Search the CMO section. Someone is selling it there. His nick is cypher and this guy is reliable.

CIF is too harsh for the o/x-rings. The chain may be clean but the rubber seals are also stripped of the natural oils at the same time. No lubricant can replace those natural oils in the rubber seals. Best not to use CIF any more.

mine reads these voltages too.

But they are from the volt meter.. As tested yesterday by using a direct measurement (multimeter to the terminals), the volt meter reads consistently 0.5v lesser, probably due to the connection to the headlights wire, hence the reading is off.

You should measure from the battery's terminal and have a quick check, if the readings you posted is from your voltmeter (assuming you have one)?

cheers!

thanks bro! appreciate it very much!

Just to add on, the exit back to SG is 312C, do 2 bends and back you go towards Tuas, there is also petrol stations along the way towards the Msia checkpoint.
