How old is your battery? You might want to use a battery charger and charge it overnight to see if it can be rescued. Can borrow mine if you want.

If I'm changing the battery, I would buy a Lithium battery. Costs a bit more but it won't lose/leak the charge as much as a lead battery. Search the CMO section. Someone is selling it there. His nick is cypher and this guy is reliable.

CIF is too harsh for the o/x-rings. The chain may be clean but the rubber seals are also stripped of the natural oils at the same time. No lubricant can replace those natural oils in the rubber seals. Best not to use CIF any more.

thanks for the advice ramsnake

ya i was wondering abt the effects of cif.. i did tot of tat too.. now i think i use cif to clean my rims only..

yr charger how many amp eh? my workpalce got 12v charger but the amp diff i think.. how many amp we need?

Ride for our loves ones..

Guys, i got prob with my bike. My idling is low at 1 rpm when i turn on ignition. When i switch off and on again, it will return to normal arnd 1.4 rpm. Any idea whats wrong?? This has happened many times, but i dun bother that much. At times, when i ride, the rpm will b lower compared to the normal setting.

Bol'dor head fairing is 1.5k more ex. Cannot just fix on naked versions cos the brackets and alignment process.

I quite like the bol'dor, got 2 small compartments to put things and windshield

That is why. Can put parking coupons and sunglasses etc. and looks terrific with top case. Should have gotten a Boldor :(

Hey bros, i am riding a spec 3, on sunday i was riding to work along AYE and was tailgated by a car and increased my speed to about 140km/hr. Tried to open throttle abit more but the bike jus wouldn't respond and stayed at 140km/hr. changed lanes and slowed down and exit at buona vista road. stopped at traffic light then voltage dropped to about 10-11v on voltmeter (using analog meter).

While moving off bike did not respond immediately to throttle, like choking then slowly move off, while entering carpark drop to gear 1and when open throttle again bike stall. Turn off Bike and started again, did not start. Start again with slight throttlling, bike started, then voltage maintain at 10v. When to mech that afternoon, change rectifier (old one melted), no problem starting voltage 13++, no battery problems, move off but when reach traffic light bike voltage decrease and RPM below 1, mech already adjusted to 1.2 RPM.

one more thing i notice a continuos ticking sound when engine start and when on the go ticking sound like follow engine momentum. Tik..Tik..Tik..Tik. Could it be coil problem? Spark plug?Cam chain?

Also when slow down.. and open throttle again bike feels like a fat cow trying to run...

Also where can i buy stock spark plug cables? mine the previous owner change to NGK racing cable...

Ur views and opininons are much appreciated

Thanks for the help...

Maybe you were rushing for an appointment but If I were you, I would have U-turn back to the shop and have the mech re-check the bike.

Firstly, I notice that the voltage after changing the rectifier was 13++. This could be because your battery was already weak due to the faulty rectifier. Have you been riding the for the past few days? If the coil is working properly, voltage should be 14.0-14.2v by now, especially while riding.

When I had the magnet coil problem about a year back, I don't remember hearing any abnormal sound. Basically the bike just slowed down, warning light came on and then the engine stalled.

Does the tik tik sound go away at higher speeds? From your description, it might be time to do valve clearance adjustment. Based on reliable feedback from people I know, Super Fours are very reliable and the general advise is that valve clearance is not required unless there is loss of power and you hear a tik tik sound from the top of the engine area. Typically, Super Fours can go beyond 100,000km without valve adjustments. One rider I know has 200,000+km on his bike and it still doesn't need valve adjustment.

As with most "sound" problems, it is not easy to diagnose without actually listening to it. Best is to get your trusted mech to have a look.

Be wary of the source of information for your bike's maintenance. Some FAQs are compiled by people who lack the technical know how.

Where else can I service/bleed my ABS brake calipers other than boon siew?

I suspect one of the front caliper is failing as it keeps the brake pads and the rotor in contact regardless whether I pull the brake lever or not. Happened even after I changed new rotors and pads and found out only that caliper worn out the pads fully within 4 months while the other side is still near brand new.

Unique has told me they can't handle ABS. And boon siew is kinda far for my west area of stay. I'm a lazy person.
