Hi guys, need some help on this.

previously rode to pahang, kuantan from SG. Midway did a pit stop with coffee break.

After coffee break when restarting my bike, the PGM-FI light was on and unable to start but after turning key to off and let it cool for 15mins more.

i was able to start bike again. I encountered this problem on a 2013 Revo, up till now only 1 years old.

Any1 have similar problem before?

Planning on doing a trip up cameron highland in the coming month slightly afraid this problem might surface again midway.

Any opinion is welcomed.

I met with the same Issue. Did you manage to find out where was the fault?

Seems like a common issue... i had the same problem... Was showing full tank even when there was less than 2 liters of fuel in the tank.

Turns out the float and the pump are now 1 single part... about $750 for the parts... good thing under warranty...

The one from LAB is hard plastic and will crack and break after a few months due to constant "swinging" during the ride.

For me, I go to the rubber shop at Towner Road, bought a suitable piece of rubber of about 2.5mm thickness, cut it to the shape of the mudflap and it is lasting me forever.

I did the same for my front wheel and it has been serving me well. Otherwise, those small stones and pebbles will always be churned up and damage the cooling fins on my radiator. Bloody HONDA should have incorporated this onto their bikes. My ex-SUZUKI came pre-installed with the mudflap extension for the front wheel.

Nice :) then how u secure it to the plastic? drill hole? or just stick it with some super tape?

went down to Planet Motors and threw this question at Chong, his answer was that it was running a bit too hot which is why the FI light was on and prevented me from starting the bike. Mayb i should change my coolant to engine ice instead of the stock honda coolant and see if there is any improvement

Try using Voltronic coolant

For the rear mudguard, you can drill 2 holes and screw onto. Also, have to cut out a rectangular slot for the piece of reflector.

For the front mudguard, I used contact cement + =show&tx_lwshopitems_pi1[controller]=Product&cHash=f356628e1ae992687a041a94c75a7a1e"]good quality super glue (not those S$1 a tube type). It had worked very well. You can get the ZACKI ELAPOR glue locally from NTC ENGINEERING HOBBIES (150 South Bridge Road #B1-22, Fook Hai Building, Singapore 058727, Telephone: 65341162. Facsimile: 64382252, Website: http://www.myrcstore.com). I'm just their customer, not doing any soliciting here.

guys, any 1 know if the ecu for revos are the same setting throughout all revos?

or are they self educating and can learn the style of their riders and update accordingly?

coz a fren told me becoz i ran my bike hard during the run-in phase thats why my fuel consumption is higher as the ecu was tuned during the 1st 1000km for high performance instead of fuel economy.

I think it is a very basic ECU as the bike does not have an O2/Lambda sensor. As such altering your riding style (i.e. avoiding VTEC power band) should immediately give better fuel consumption. Of course may not be possible on Singapores busy roads.

Yes, same original setting throughout from HONDA.

The HONDA ECU is not automatically adjustable.

I don't understand what you meant by ran the bike hard during the run-in phrase.

I mean that i used the hard run in when i just bought the bike. A friend of mine told me that is the reason why my bike's fuel consumption is higher as compared to his spec 3 even tho revo is supposedly more fuel saving as its tech is more advanced

from what i know revo is less fuel efficient, meaning uses more fuel as compared to spec3 due to it's fuel injection technology. so far i've not known any revo that is able to hit 26km/l. if anyone with revo did hit 26km/l please do some sharing...

quite true, my revo nv got more than 20km/l =\ makes me wonder if the revo is actually an improvement or not

less than 20km/l is really bad you know...? from what i know revo is around 22-24km/l. my spec3 currently is having 26-27km/l

Improvement was to clean the emissions to meet many countries demand for this. I often wonder if we are actually achieving any thing, I would say burning less fuel should be the ultimate goal.

In your very warm climate the fuel consumption will at least be optimised by much less running from cold with a very rich fuel mixture. Here in the UK my fuel consumption drops by around 10% in the winter time (average temperature of 3.3 degrees C).

I improved my economy by fitting 16T front and 42T rear sprockets - chain will need to be shortened & the speedometer re-calibrated. Still accellerates well though.

Anyone have problems with a double sweep of the instrument dials?

I cured mine with this modification

The Schottky allows a little more headroom voltage before brown out occurs. Instruments seem to reset at a voltage of around 8 to 9 volts, this is why a slightly weak battery causes a double sweep.

There is not enough room to place circuit inside the instruments, so I had to tuck it into the headlight bucket. Wrap in insulating tape.

Comments welcome

Is this with 'moderate' riding style?

Previously, on my version S, i always drag my rpm to 8-9k rpm whenever possible. had never gotten below 20/L.

1997 TZR 125 - 1998 FZ 150 - 1999 GSXR 400K - 1999 RX 100 - 2000 LC 125 - 2001 TZR 125 - 2002 CB 400 Ver S - 2006 CBR 929 - 2006 GETZ 1.4 - 2009 STEED 400 - 2016 ???

Riders ride to work. Drivers work to drive.

Brother, can we just omit the resistor and diode, but just connect the capacitor in parallel to chassis. In case of the capacitor turning bad and shorting in the future, maybe can place a 1A fuse just before the capacitor as an additional safety.
