i park my bike at the road side. when i came back i was shocked. right footpeg and right brake lever broke in two. somebody bumped my bike accidently and just picked it up and ran off. i suspect is a car then hurriedly ran off. anything can be done. report police got any use?

Any eyewitness? If no dan u have to pay the repair yourself.. No point making police report if there's no eyewitness..

You are lucky that he at least pick up your bike.

 

Many years ago, my bike was also down by someone with broken mirrors etc and it was still down when I return. The petrol was leaking too.

 

Demages you got to pay yourself and just treat it as the cost of having yourself a transport.

Woah same situation as me. The car reverse knock down my bike and ran. 1 witness but no number plate. suck thumb go repair $210. :angry:

The offender can deny everything.

think all this hit and run cases...they never kena their loved one got it.

imagine ..the rider is the son..daughter..father etc..

 

anyway, not i see them shallow .. think if they kena such stuffs ..they will lamed who-so-ever fault for doing this to their loved ones..when they are the one who did something at the wrong..they hecked care and give u tat look as if u r in the wrg. u shouldnt have "bumped" into their way.

if u're honest n just, u'll put a note there to contact u for claims.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

Yap, usually for bikes, especially old bikes, owners usually grateful you don't just run away, will just charge the cost, and skip the lost of transport crap + taxi claim from you.

 

Had a bike drop once, and damage the orange plastic panel of the left signal light's of a bike parked besides mine. Owner only asked for $25. :thumb:

Motorcyclist are the nicest people on the road, try not to kill us.

on the other hand, if the damaged bike's owner turn out to be a fussy one, how? claim this, claim that, with GST++, etc. think that's y some plp hit n run, not because they want escape responsibility, they scared wait kenna chop.

same thing happened to my new 7mths bike.. parked it at jurong erp carpark. go withdraw $ 10mins later come back see fairing scratched, mirror caved in, erp unit cable almost tored out and crooked. some idiot obviously bumped into my bike n ran off! :angry:

next time i sure want to drive a dirty rusty beat up old truck.. then paint on the tail-board.. I have claimed insurance on 99 tail-gaters. Are you the 100th? :cheeky:

even if you have photo and video of the car/bike that hit & run also no use... you got to chase him/her then to stop him/her to talk about it...

 

report to police only watse time... i have give them the pic & video of me chase the car... end up police say they had sent him letter and the owner reply say never hit me, and so no case... and if i want to claim, got to use my own lawyer but chance is very very low...

 

so just pay for my own repair and next time got to chase the follow all the way!!!! if not you can never claim anything at all!

it happen to me today, park the bike at the road side. . .come back, bike on the pavement. . .but 4 my case i got witness & witnesses (all r school mates). . .they even got the vehicle plate no. for me.

 

Police & Insurance report all hav been done today. Wat i need next is the witness's statement & repair quotation from my bike shop to pursue the matter.

 

What do u guys think? do i have a chance to do a claim?

it happened to my fren,he got a whole new set of fairings and lots of stuffs changed like tyre,brake pads, its like getting a whole new bike also,

haaa. my fren got a almost new bike after he acccident.. new fork, tire, frame, rim, brake hose. exhaust, fairing...

but he suffered alot from it.. haiz..
