Not really

SW600 JDM => 18+/-

SW400 JDM => 20 +/-

SW400 Euro => 22/24

That was the info i gathered over the 6 mths of ownership.

Then again very much dependant on the riding style.

2wheeler advise me if can keep @ 80-90. SW600 can go 19 +/-

Er that speed for me rushing to work in the morning is really hard to match.

After work is 2up most of the time... so.........u do the math

I was 'almost' convinced to get the SW400 at 12k (from BH Bros) but only the FC holding me back (cos I stayed East and work West).

major factors that cause the poorest FC in SW are its 8-valves parallel-twin engine and a heaviest dry weight of 228kg in the category, compared to the others that run on 4-valves single cylinder engine and are much lighter (X8 185kg, MP3 199kg, Burgman 195kg, YP4 201kg). but in return for the higher FC, we get smoother engine performance and more stability. depends on what you want :shades:

i also travel long distances everyday to/fro work (west to east) clocking near 70km per day. a little more FC for a smoother engine and more stability is till ok. expressway avg speed 80+kph, lowest FC 22+km/L (city & traffic jams), best ever 27+km/L (mainly expressways) :angel:

Just a quick add-on of the FC of SW400, for me its about 19~23 KM/L. I kept a record since I got my bike in Feb 07, average so far is 19.71. Highest being 24.1 and lowest being 19.2.

wah... throttle heavy? :cheeky:

hmmmm the MP3 400 weighs more than a Silverwing 400, the dry weight: - 238 kg!!! (:sian: the weight + storage space held me back)

The MP3 250's dry weight is 204 kg.

The one that weighs is the MP3 125cc = 199kg

well... complaining abt the mileage will not improve anything at all since petrol prices are ever increasing

what's most important is that we enjoy our ride

at the very least make our money worth it

oh ya...I missed that... what happened is that I went to HL showroom today and got it for the YP400 08 model... and I just want to share this info..

Started this thread to get FC for bigger sccot so I can compare... but finally settled for the bike with the highest FC in 400cc. haha. Could have got the cheap cheap x8 400 or even the Xevo 400 if not for their super small tank of 12L (means pump petrol every 2 days+).

Anyway, could extend this thread for smaller scoots though.

Lets begin with my ex X9 EVO250 bah..... 29-30km/L

2017

2018

wah bro.... you are doing run-in and already going 90-100km/hr? what was the rpm?

for silverwing FJS400, should be around 5k-5.5k rpm

i weight : 65kg

travelling ave: 90-100km/hr ( highway sometime 120km/hr )

FC obtain : 22.27km/L

i weigh 60kg, highway mostly 90+kph (slower at speed cams :p), hardly above 110 even if overtaking

FC around 24-25km/L... but odo already 7k kms, full synthetic eo, grounding, PA2, pump in early morning (some say its only a myth but i get poorer FC when refuel during hot afternoons). maybe iridiums can help improve further :angel:

good FC also due to throttle light, i don't do "take offs"... usually accelerates slowly over longer stretches; many 2B bikes also overtake me at green-lights :angel:

Yup.

Mine's at 24-25km/L too, cruising 90-100km/h.

With the bigger 16L tank, you could top up at 350km with almost 2L to spare.

try refueling in the "cold"... late night or better still, early morning :cool:

the "cooler" gasoline seems to have improve my FC by a bit. not a huge jump, but every bit counts :thumb:

rationale... the ground gets sun baked during the day and slowly cools as night falls, conducting heat to the gasoline stored in the underground tanks. gasoline is denser when cooler and thus we get more per litre from refueling cooler gasoline. it is also said that cooler/denser fuel gives better performance to ICE... ferarri would have lost their F1 2007 constructors title if the protest against them for using cooler fuel to gain extra advantage in one of the races has gone through.

however, some says the underground tanks are very well insulated such that the gasoline temperature inside isn't going to change much, even when the ground temperature fluctuates.

no harm trying right? but remember to ride normally for a more conclusive outcome :goodluck:

I think the "no take offs" are the most beneficial in improving FC.

Full service as in belt, rollers, Oil & filter, air filter, plugs?

Carburetor serviced?

Air/fuel mix too rich?

Fuel leak?

Changed/added new things to the bike, i.e. add more electrical stuffs?

FC drop was sudden or gradual?
