only use 20w-50 or 20w-40 or 15w-50 balck oil viscosity

do not use anything other then that

yamaha crankshaft bearing and clutch housing rubber damping cannot last long

the final mileage it can last is 55,000km

so it need thick oil to protect the bearing.

yamaha bearing faulty in gearbox is well known

long term use has problems:angry:

Meter: 70463

Date: 28 April 2008

Shop: Seng Fong Motor Boring Trading, Jalan Larkin, Johor Bahru

Total: RM360

Time: 10:10am – 3pm

Overhaul engine due to Yamaha defect on crankshaft bearing – design error, not enough ‘tembaga’ thickness on crankshaft.

Suggestion:

Use 20w-40 engine oil

The best is Shell advance S4T

Synthetic oils are good for piston and piston rings

For gearbox protection ad bearings, suggested on thicker oil

Furthermore, motorcycle and car engine oil has different purpose

Car engine and gearbox oil are different

Solution:

Lay crankshaft rod and welding to add more ‘tembaga’

Changed 2 bearing of crankshaft (left and right hand side)

Gasket one whole set

Timing chain rod – guide stopper 2 pieces. Comes in a Pasir

Exhaust pipe inner gasket silencer

Front fork oil change

Labour charges

Extra:

Did ‘double side tape’ layout for anti vibration on fairings and cowlings.

Exhaust pipe paint high temperature black paint

Changed air filter

Chain drive sprayed Putoline GP1 chain jelly

Adjusted kick starter position for shorter and smoother kicking

Oil lubricant into throttle cable and inside throttle for smoothness

Changed engine oil - for 200km running to clean and wash out all the residue.

I received email from Shell Malaysia

answering my question on shell advance s4t oil

below i copy , paste

Hi Mr.Gxxxxxx,

Good Morning...

Thank you for taking the time to write in to us.With regards to

your earlier enquiry regarding our Shell Lubricant, especially on the

qualities of the Shell Advance S4T,it is an oil is designed to

withstand and remove the heat generated in the motorcycle engine.

The temperature is not an indication of the heat generated. As a

guide, the maximum temperature the oil can withstand is indicated by

the flash point, which is about 200 deg C.

To prevent imitation, please purchase from our approved Shell outlets

only. If the you have come across suspected imitation products,

please report to us the location & address if possible of the outlet

for further investigation.
