I MXed for 30 years - In the early 1980's I raced AMA 500 Pro nationals. Started racing Supermoto about 5 years ago. My 1st SM was a Yamaha YZ426. I currently race a Yamaha YZ 250 2 stroke.

No we are in the USA. I have been working on putting on a SM school with Jason Conlon with a promoter in South Africa. We could do the same thing in Singapore.

The number of SM rider are very little... it not easy to do a school in SG.

im not too sure abt the racing scene here but u can Google "MSSC".if im not mistaken, its Singapore's motorsport's association.but as far as im concerned, the Supermoto scene here is very dull, save for the newly opened dirt track in Tuas(northern Singapore),otherwise,it doesnt get much coverage.its kinda still an underground situation.moreover, the Government is just starting to re-embrace the motorsports culture.unlike back in the 1970s,80's when it was common to read abt local races regularly in the news.it would be a wonderful idea to have a supermoto school right here in this beautiful city-state.only then will the culture pick up and Supermoto will be just as popular as it currently is in the States

There is still little Racing here in the states unless you live in California, Wisconsin or the New York area. I drive 6-7 hours one way to get to a real SM track. We have a Mini Road Race http://www.semra.org that we can race pavement with but no dirt yet but we are working on it.

yeah i can understand that.as u know, singapore's population isn't that large n as such the bikers population, especially SM riders isn't that large either.what we the community needs now is some large-scale SM exhibition races to showcase the sport.maybe that way,the interest will pick up n so will the population.

hey bro's... dont mind me speaking my mind out.. just wanna say that, it will

be totally cool if we have a SM School here locally..

i agree that SM riders here in spore is a minority.. but nothing is impossible..

we can all together help this dude from u.s to form a school here.. i mean its a win-win situation rite.. all of us will be gaining from this..

we have to start somewhere bros.. speaking is easy, i know that.. but if we keep on thinking negatively, we will end up nowhere.. all it takes is just, somebody to plant his ideas and of course $$$ and a little help from the local riders, i believe that things can turn out well...

lastly, lets give this dude a chance shall we.. (and i believe this dude has a name rite. may we know ur name pls):cheeky: and niway, i support u 110%.. :thumb:

How many riders are riding the Suzuki 400 or Yamaha 250 Supermoto's on the street that would like to learn how to ride faster and safer?

yikes... for that my fren, i have to refer u to this website. http://www.supermoto.sg

u can find out how many riders are riding the drz 400 and yamaha 250..

the yamaha 250 is still fresh here, whereas the drz is quite popular here is spore.. define how many? im not to sure.. but there's quite alot..

i tink we need to do a survey as to how many would really want to ride faster and safer... coz u noe, some guys just ride a supermoto just for the sake of riding a supermoto, not really into track stuff if u noe wat i mean..

yups.. agreed to wat ur saying.. i believe, if they want riders to take part in their school, they shud give and take.. like for instance, paying the whole course in installment plans w/o any interest maybe.. i dunno bro, there must be a solution for every problems..

if u keep on learning by urself or by close frens, how good can u possibly be.. how fast can u possibly go.. even rossi has a teacher (his dad when he was young) even kids at the motogp racing ACADEMY has a teacher, somebody to guide them.. i noe, money is an issue.. we have to werk day and night to earn money.. im still studying full time and i still can afford to buy a racing suit.. save enuf money, sacrifies one thing for another.. anyway i raced in yamaha cub prix also.. its a stepping stone, u might never noe where u will end up in the future.. but it all comes down to wat u believe in.. it takes time to noe who u really are and wat u want to become in the future.. everyone has their own dreams to chase after.. lewis hamilton's father had trouble sponsering his son to go-kart race. his dad work i tink 2 or 3 jobs to pay for lewis racing career.. and look where he is rite now (i noe his in spore) i mean his father hard work did pay off seriously.. i dont mean to brag and offend anybody, but this is just reality..

money will always be an issue, forever is, forever will...
