Biting on the fray of my hair, I muse upon the way to find the oasis of evermore beyond the vertical horizon, I shall join the windupdeads in owl city, neither my safetysuit nor my red jumpsuit apparatus can save me, cuz I mistook a death cab for cutie in plain white T's...

my insurance under Mitsui expires today and i went to my bike shop earlier on... they told me that Mitsui no longer take KRR and that they'll switch to NTUC for me and quoted me $925  for Fire & Theft Thiry Party coverage...

and funny thing is that later on I went to my neighbour's office who works for NTUC, he checked for me & called up Mitsui, they says I'm still able to renew the insurance with them... how come my bike shop would say that Mitsui no longer take my model and that they will change to NTUC for me...

and oh yea, maybe 2_wheeler can help me out here... I had a successful accident claim, which i wasn't at fault for the accident, am I still entitled to the 10% N.C.D??

who's insurance did you make the claim? If you claim from the 3rd party's insurance then your NCD will not be affected.

It is true that Mitsui not accepting KRR at the moment. But i'm very sure u can renew. But more or less the price is the same as NTUC one lar...

my insurance also expiring soon. I asked motordiam quote me. Mitsui==880+ NTUC==900+ :giddy: :giddy: :giddy:

My insurance last year = $450 :giddy: :giddy: :giddy:

I'm going to transfer the ownership to my dad after transfers fee + insurance under his name is $650+... still cheaper...

If u have someone whom u can trust and is above 21... use his name. cheaper.

You can get a 3rd party insurance even when you are buying a new bike........ provided you paid cash for it.

if your insurance expire in a month time and you got no $$ to renew then you cannot renew your road tax also. If you did not renew your road tax you cannot ride the bike on the road and you will be fine if you renew your road tax late.

shops will ususally let you pick 1st or 2nd party only.

but once the bike is in your hands, you can go down to ntuc/mitsui yourself, cancel the insurance and choose whichever plan you want. you get back about 80% of the value of your previous insurance.

shops will usually required you to take 1st or 2nd party if you are paying be installment. This is because they are afraid that something might happen to the bike (accident, total loss, fire or theft) and you don't continue to pay the installment.

yes but that does not mean you cannot cancel the insurance without their knowledge. just because they want your money, doesn't mean you have to give it to them.

anyone can advise other than NTUC and AXA, are there any other companies that provide insurance for motorcycles?

any contacts?

I noted that AXA is cheaper in comprehensive coverage but expensive in Third Party (Fire and theft)
