As long as you have paid, LTA will have ur vehicle on records so even if the road tax disc is not displayed, you won't get into a lot of trouble.

yap.. but some TP/ROV damn xialan.. they will make noise and fine u for not displaying.. but dono whether that fine exist.. but tats wat i heard..

Respect: u dun haf to worry much because u still get to keep ur license... on the other hand.. if u got a valid reason for not renewing ur road tax u might just escape with a small fine? try to say that u never receive ur rd tax or u just got out of hospital due to ur prev accident bla bla.. hope it helps. gd luck! anyway lucky that u get to keep ur license. money can earn anytime. license revoke sad case..

Caught riding:-

W/o Road Tax= Insurance not valid = Liciense Revoked.

 

Never Ride:-

W/O Road Tax= Fine++ + + + till you pay.

Road Tax non-payment scenarios:

 

Not paying road tax: (deliquent or procrastinator)

1. Fine incurred on top of road tax

2. Fine increments per date printed

3. 3 months later, LTA sends you a final letter to pay up by the due date

4. Never pay everything by the due date, LTA charges you in court.

 

Not paying road tax (want to store bike)

1. Applied for "Non-user status" before deadline: OK

2. Applied for "Non-user status" after deadline:

pay the fine only + days gone without road tax payment

(which is = road tax total for a year, divided by 365 days, multiply by days that you went without paying road tax)

** This method is formerly called "Vehicle Lay-up"

 

During that time of non-road tax payment, if the person gets caught w/o road tax,

all of the above does not apply anymore and the person gets charged in court. This check can happen:

1. When TP/ROV pulls you over on the road.

2. At the Immigration Customs (occasional check)

3. Road block

alright. i received the LTAs' call. thanks to all who replied a licence revoke. you guys kinda stirred me up though. hahaha.

 

its just a $50 fine. i got caught after 6 days of its expiry. i think got 1mth window or sth. so anything after that crazy amount of fine.

 

Luckily i got caught if not i wouldnt have known about this and continued riding.

 

SO GUYS!!! please dont be careless like me leaving everything to bike shop/insurance co to settle for you

thankfully u got away with only a $50 fine! so to all riders, bear in mind & do rem to settle all your inspections, insurances & road taxes before the due date to avoid any unnecessary losses, minor being a fine & major as in losing ur license!
