Hi all to biker,

The below message is just a suggestion to hope someone can voice it to LTA.

Years had past since ERP and more carparks required you to insert your cashcard into yr IU.

I believe most of you had once or twice lost your cashcard because you forget to take it out from your IU set.

Money are lost and time spent to buy a new card may seem to be a routine if you are alway forgetful.

There're many homemade ways for prevention.

1) Mental training. Dont forget to take out.

2) Take cover. Pasting a sticker covering the card sloting area.

3) Punching a hole in yr cashcard, attach a string to yr bike's key.

4) Reminder Alert. Buying and installing a cashcard alert.

And with many people like me alway forget to insert cashcard and brake, the below suggestion is a good 1 to prevent accident.

A GIRO system whereby biker or even driver can register their IU for GIRO as an option and dont worry about any card lost again.

So far the negative effect as I read it somewhere is that personal information such as bank account detail may be disclose.

This can be solved by creating a system of giving all IU a different unique number just to adequately match a vehicle licence plate only.

In turn the owner of the vehicle got to register themselves to a local bank account so that at the end month, the system deduct the amount of money from the bank.

Other problem that may arise from above suggestion :

1) Amount deducted not tally.

- Bank can provide details billing system.

2) IU lost.

- Owner can report to the bank which inturn inform LTA, like the credit card system to stop all transaction.

3) Over usage.

- Same thing with the credit card system. What will the bank do if u never paid up the bill?

Please Please someone pls voice it to LTA!

YEAH !

i believe LTA or relevant government agencies will do something in future. they want to make it easy for them to collect money from us too.

Posted

Dun think they will really bother..

Some things to ponder:

1) Wat will happen if we forgotten to insert cashcard b4 crossing gantry?? --> we pay $25 fine

2) Wat if we lost cashcard?? --> we buy another one

In Summary --> We pay more $$$, they earn more $$$

Y would they bother??

hmmm... Since you already have all the relevant points and arguments, why don't you voice it out to LTA instead? Isn't it better than waiting for someone else to do something for you? You would also be able to get the response directly from LTA instead of waiting for that "someone" to pass the message to you.

Its a great idea.

Thank you in advance for voicing it out to LTA :thumb:

One of the worst invention for Singapore. The Cash Card. Floating money in the network. What if the cash card gone missing/destroyed? Isn't it not traceable? Imagine thousands or millions of these are not accountable for yearly. Next, is the parking coupons. Paying something that we have not use? SIgh... only in uniquely Singapore!

yes!

Also in the pipeline, is the option of paying for your ERP charges via your credit card.

According to news released earlier this year, motorists will not even need to bother with cashcards as they will have the option of getting their ERP charges added to their credit card bills.

The service is scheduled to be rolled out sometime in the middle of this year.

I'm a user of that. Yes, it's just $4, plus the ERP charge that you didn't pay when you went under the gantry.

The charges gets added on to your next month's phone bill
