No Petrol Day ???

I received this chain mail from friend's and I thought it's maybe good to share with everyone here. Not sure how true is it if we don't pump for a day will it really make any different to the petrol company hahaha.....

Petrol in Pakistan Rs 17 per liter

Malaysia Rs 18 per liter

In India it's 51 per liter

 

Why this difference in Asia itself? World Market CRUDE Oil is not the reason for this. It's all Gain for private owners. As we are the general public, or Common Man as R.K.Laxman wud have said, we have to raise our voice, let's rise thru Emails.

 

IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF PETROL FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.

 

AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES.

THEREFORE "24th JANUARY " HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT UP THEIR BEHIND "DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF PETROL THAT DAY.

 

 

THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT. WAITING ON THE GOVERNMENT TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO?

TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH AFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING SUPPLIES MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO!

 

 

WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN. SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD. FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE 24 JANUARY A DAY THAT THE CITIZENS SAY "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH".

I see the logic of a self-fullfilling prophecy.

If everyone cooperate, the oil company will be force to lower the price due to low demand.

 

It the theory of DD & SS in economics.

 

Will do the no Purchase of Oil and monitor the effect.

If I dun pump on the 24th, I'll still have to pump on some other day. In the end, they still earn my money. worse still, increase the price of petrol to make up for the loss.

No matter what, we will still pump petrol in the end. Even if we don't ride/drive and we take public transport, they rise petrol/diesel price, cab and bus fares will rise too. So the petrol company is in a win-win situation.

It's not about "toDaE duN puMp, suM DaE wiLl PuMP maH, 4 wat, HeHeHeHe". Its about grouping people, in the millions..

 

The email ask you and million of others, to not pump for that one single day, to put the oil company down. But noeing ppl, this kind of this only works in theory lah..

fact is... this choice of 'no petrol day'... might have an effect to petrol companies...

 

but another sad fact is... number of bikes in singapore is too small to make any difference.

 

probably if 70% private cars and 70% BIG BIKES dun pump petrol for a week.... then theres a difference...

 

but still... i dun forsee prices going down just to 'get ride of stockpile'...

 

i cant even remember when was the last time prices went down...

The price differences between the asia countries are due to the country subsidies (and taxes of course). Countries should not subsidy oil product as it is likely to result in over consumption (and perhaps attract neighbours to go up and refuel).

 

We should be glad if the stockpile is that much. In reality most stockpile is in fuel oil and not the processed petrol. There is a global lack of refinery capacity and if there is a huge stockpile of petrol that would be good. Will help to stablise price even when hurricane hit the west coast of US.

 

Waiting for government to give subsidy? or take on the oil majors? 1st option is suicidal for the govt. If you can afford vehicle, you can't afford to pay for "market price" petrol products and expect government to use taxpayer money and fork your bill? Take on the oil majors of coz can......if you are Russia or Venezuelan and you are Putin or Chavez.

 

Best is everyone take public transport.....emission per person and petrol usage will be lowered. Looking forward to the improvements to come over the next 10 years for the public transport

even if you dont pump petrol on that day, you are still providing $$ to the oil companies just by using your bike. becos even though there is no actual outflow of cash, cost is still incurred becos petrol is consumed on that day. So no. this doesnt work. unless for some reason petrol turns bad in one day meaning oil that isnt sold today cant be sold tmr.
