(1) Flush your fuel tank

(2) Replace Fuel Filter

See whether can start. If engine still cannot start or produces a lot of smoke and lack of power,

(3) Clean your carburettors/throttle body

These should solve the problems. You wouldn't want to know what to do if you bike still cannot start by the time you reach this step.

DIY - dun suggest u do this unless ur used to DIY ur bike.

1) go get a can or two of Vpower or any petrol with a cleaning agent

2) get 2 sets of spark plugs

3) cable ties

1st thing u do is drain out all the diesel from ur tank. Either pump it out or take out the tank and drain. Then u need to remove the diesel from ur hoses. Just unplug. Make sure when u replug it's a tight fit. If its not, use cable ties. Then if ur using a carb, drain from ur carbs. If FI, ok to leave a little.

When all the diesel is out, rinse ur tank n hoses with a little petrol. Take out ur plugs put in new plugs. Fill up tank with petrol. It'll be a little hard to start so make sure ur batteries are ok. Once it starts let it run for while, play wit the throttle a little to get the petrol back in. Lots of smoke and maybe backfires.

Go to the nearest pump and fill up. Anything with a cleaning agent. It'll backfire a little so dun worry. It'll take abt 2 tank fulls to clear properly. Then change ur plugs again.

Service - towing, abt $60(i think?) Workshop will drain everything n service ur carbs/FI + change ur plugs. Usual cost for servicing + another $20 mebbe.

Thanks for all the response guys, currently my bike is in JB Hyper Bike workshop for servicing. Already try to drain out all the diesel but was unable to start after putting in new petrol. The fellow said need need to clean carburettors or replace it something like that and ask me to come back the next day. Now waiting for them to call back and see how much they charging.

Ok i have check with them, they charge me 450rmb.. is it too expensive only for washing ?

Aiya... think i kanna carrot chop already. Call up local bike workshop say only cost less than $100 for such service. Now donno wat to do. Going to argue with them later on.

You guys got to be careful when going JB motor shop. If they dont give you the quote or cant repair within the day, don agree to let them do cos it gonna turns up with huge amount and story.

1. drain your tank. it requires removing your tank. thats one of the more easier things you can do. if you cant even figure how to do this, then forget about diy. you will want to slosh some clean petrol inside as well before draining again.

2. fill your tank with what you normally fill with. STP has a carb cleaner additive that you can pour into your tank. read the instructions.

3. check your plugs. if they are clean dont bother changing. wipe it down with some cloth and put it back in. if the plug is a mess(sticky black residue)... than change it.

once should be enough... but it may be prudent to put more additive to your tank when you fill it up again. a small bottle of carb cleaner can last you several full tanks.

Bro, how do i remove my fuel tank when there's still petrol in it?

Posted

buy a fish tank pump $1.50! pump into a jerry can! or petrol-durable bottle.

If you are in a hurry or stuck in some ulu place sort of thing, you can forget about cleaning this cleaning that remove here and that all that nonsense. Just pump out as much of that diesel/petrol mixture as possible from your tank and replace them with fresh petrol, and try to start your bike a few times, it would most probably start in a few minutes.

Most important!!! Never attempt to start your bike before draining all the diesel from it.. diesel is more oily and combustable.. really need to a good cleanup of the internals.. got the lesson from experience.. now, wake up my ideas on every petrol pumps!!
