Beware of these silicon sprays for shine. Put on sidewall sure looks good, my suggestion is not to spray directly but spray on cloth and wipe it on. That way, none will get on brakes or tire thread. Safety first folks! :thumb:

Also another no no is your bike seats. Some of these products say make your seats looks good, but NEVER do it. I tried once and my arse was sliding all over the place. HAd to spend another 15mins cleaning it off. :nono:

hi sorry to barge in. i m currently facing this problem. 2 daes ago my fren sprayed it 4 me unknowingly abt the consequences. I tried washing it away as i went onto the contact side. Almost skidded off abt 3 times. Pls let me know how to get this off. Very sian, cannot play corner liao.... :giddy: :weep:  :giddy: :weep:

So far the best polish that I have ever used...

I have tried many other brands, you name it.

But so far the best IMHO is AutoGlym.

It's one of the most ex but overall it's the best... again IMHO.

What to get, Polish and high gloss.

the 2 bottles will set you back about 40-50 bucks.

Best place to buy is in autobacs when they are having discount.

Autoglym is not like may other brands,

1. when polishing, it does not need to cover ever inch of the surface with thick coat.

2. comes off easy

3. after polishing, use the high gloss and it acts like a sealant and will last for at least 1- 2 months.

4. if bike get dusty... just use water and rinse. no need to use shampoo.

I use that on my car and it's impressive. I park my car under the sun...

Also, i was my car 1 x a month and polishes ever 2-3 mths. still looks good.

Best Cloth

Baby diper cloth.

Porous, easy to wash and cheap. best for polishing and drying.

For tyres.

$2 polish @ daiso in IMM. it's like the amour all tub thingie... but in a packet of 10 or 20. cannot remember.

or

the popular amour all.

Rust remover

cannot remember the name but it's available from most DIY shops.

It's a cream type of sand paper. super smooth.

*tip, after using that, polish with any polish else will rust.

**tip for chrome parts,

big parts - spray a layer of laquer.

small parts, transparent nail polish

It's usually not the bike, Check the Biker

I use Turtle Wax on my bike it doesn't give the shine and also it take me very long to wipe it off (I'm using the liquid form). I thin kthose car polish would be better. As for washing I was told that the chemical in the detergent will eat of the paint, although yet to see the effect.
