Nokia 6500 Problem

hey guys, i just bought the 6500 slide almost a month ago and now the memory card cant be read. tried and tested..the memory card icon will flicker on and off..sometimes can open sometimes cannot.

 

sent to nokia care centre..wait for 1 hr. when collection time, waited for 1 half hours..and told me they cant fix it for free. like wth? and the reason is due to corrosion. like HELLO. i just bought it and its corroded? i still have my 1 yr plus old SE W810i in good working condition. they told me it would take 80-150 bucks for them to fix it..my gf who has a nokia phone got her fone fix at a n'bourhood mobile store for 50..and her problem was same..CORROSION.

 

so ppl..what do u think i should do now? what would you do?

take this issue to their escalation team. in singapore. only the "bad" people get their way around and "good" people are being view as dead people

Bro is your 6500 the slide phone or the classic model? Been planning to get myself the Nokia 6500 slide phone to replace my Sony Erisson 318i.

dun think corrosion might be the problem... it happens to all nokia 6500 slide... apparently for mine.... it's more like design fault in my opinion n cannot b solved... the person at nokia care centre told me that it's the back cover... if i remove it, the memory card cannot b read... when i put the cover back, the memory card is readable again... he helped me to adjust the back cover abit... well... it's much better now... i'd still advise pple not to get this phone...

Anyone holding the Nokia 6500 slide ?

 

I just got my phone last Friday, and found out the the photos quality is not expected. As to isolate the problem, if mine is a problematic case :

 

Please send me two photos :

 

1) 2048x1536

2) 1600x1200

 

For comparison in different size, Same spot, with sunlight (preferred) , not edited.

 

I will want to compare the photos quality before escalate, please send to [email protected]

got another problem... sms sent was able to be save automatically to "sent" folder. but now cannot liow, nokia fella say could be software corrupted, need to reflash phoneware:weep:

6500 slide sure is laggy restarts/blanks out when you are smsing or doing things at time.

no la 6500 not laggy... bcos u accidently press the camera button on the side, n u press any other button. dats y it nv respond, n nvr go to the camera function as weel ( u actiate 2 functions same time). neway its a shitty fone, bt qte expensive. the trade in value at m1 shop is $200, just asked yesterday.i traddedmine for another cheaper, but better fone in terms of function. i oso dun reccomend dis fone, unless u buy for asset collection.

the camera oso say carl zeiss lens 3.2 megapix.... but sure is crappy quality. even a 2 mega pix fone is better den dis fone. especially the 3G function. not clear pic n lag...alot

I suggest don't buy this phone esp the slide model, bought more than 10 for my company and found out that every 1 of these phones if passes near a magnet will automatically switch off the phone.

This hp is the most problematic hp nokia ever produced.. Its such a failure.. Better not take this hp cause it has no cure to all the probs arise.. More over.. In out of 1000 sets... Only ONE super lucky user will find the hp best cause it comes problem free.. HAHA...

take a look at their service centers, always pack with ppl.

Have been using 6500 slide. So far so good, just traded it away. Even got the firmware flashed through Nokia site.

My mother and my colleagues have/had the 6500 slide. Really horrible phone. Looks nice but they all have one problem of the profile "running away" to the default mode. The ringtone will already change back without warning. Really problematic phone.
