Bike shop charging any amount they like.. is it illegal?

it is the way they run their business anyway..

 

it happens everytime,

 

from changing a small screw to overhauling the whole engine.

different bike shop charging you any amount they like ..

we cosumers are always at the losing ends .. what the uncle say , we got to pay, anyway they have already done what we asked..

 

anyone have think that, are they paying what it's worth for ?...

come across, if you think that the deal is unfair to consumer,

what can be done? go to C.A.S.E ?

 

i doubt C.A.S.E can help much, it is a organisation formed so that consumers and company disrupt can be neturalise ..

I can said this, because , i myself have engage C.A.S.E before.. they are not standing on the cosumers side, but rather on the neutral side..

their people who assisted in mediation are all voluntary helpers..

If you still think that it is unfair ... you need to hire a lawyer.. to fight your you... all the legal fees goes to you if you happen to lose the case..

consumers VS company.. who you think can endure more beating in term of financially..

Maybe you should've asked for a quotation before you got started on the work if you don't know the bikeshop guy. You want to be extra careful, get it in writing. Buyer beware, after all, no point *****ing about it here after the deal is done.

i have got the quotation u see..

 

some bike after they say a price, they changed for you the parts..

after that , saying havent incl. gst, so the amount is blah blah blah..

or said, havent incl. of workmanship.. so the amount if blah blah blah..

 

i wonder how many bike uncle give u a black and white before they repair or change your motorparts..

 

see ? a lot of hidden ways they can change the value like they want..

1 more business style is..

 

they work on your bike, half way, telling you u should change this and that.

 

some parts cannot be find locally, need to order from overseas..

 

need to pay for the shipment..

 

i hoped that every other bike shop know how to repair my bike.

i always go to them, they told me to go back my agent, they do not have my bike parts..

 

just my fault of choosing a bike that is too unique!

Moral of the story? Open your own bike shop and start fleecing other unsuspecting customers!

It's a free market. Which means sellers can set their price, and buyers and ask about pricing before entering into the transaction. It also means that buyers are free to choose which seller they want to buy from, and to find the deal that best suits them.

 

If the buyer doesn't look after his own interest, he shouldn't expect others to do so for him.

Normally i will stop patrolling these shops after my visit . I also don't like visit shop seller that quote item in whole value (i.e $10 , $15 , $20 ) . It kind of turn me off as it gives me an impression that they anyhow whack any amount they feel like selling .

 

Last time i went to go to this popular bike shop (alone blk 1036 ubi ) and i was quite stunned when the shop seller actually quoted me $40 for 4 start plugs with installion . Ah boy shop is actually selling these start plug for $5 each, but of course i have to DIY .

is it exactly the same quality spark plugs? ah boy's spark plug might be cheap.. but will it last or not? same.. if you ask for a better one ah boy will sell you more ex for the better one.

cheap does not necessarily equate to poor quality. Vice versa.

a shop sell me a fake honda oil filter for the price of original one before .

Just take buying bike for eg.

The quote u the price everything black and white (Pencil)!

When doing the collection of bike!

Everything increase,upon collecting your bike they use (Pen)!

Intrest at first was like 5% can change to 6%

GST - When put u upfront down payment it was like before july 07 was like 5%

Then collection of bike after July they can charge u for 7%

Total they earn 3 more percent!!!

Althought it might be 3 %,some people think is little but some thinks its a lot.

 

So moral of the story, black and white must be written in pen!!!
