Hi bros, my fren's fuoco has engine stalling issue. When he brakes a little harder than usual. bike rpm will drop fast and bike will stall. His bike is 2011 model, so i guess we can assume it has the latest ECU settings? Not sure if it is due to the ECU settings. Plus his bike installed with Dr Pulley rollers. Anyone here has any idea to what the problem might be?

Thank you armani123sg. I didnt know you went to seek help. And yes, surprising that im actually commenting. LOL

 

Did a lot of reading online. Dont ever update the ECU. There is an explaination for that. In a nutshell, updating ECU is only making the bike adapt/calibrate to the wear and tear. and not the other way round. An explaination i got was... say... a watch.

 

Most waches have a 12 o'clock mark on the bezel. So what happens is over time, The whole face of the watch might move (not the Bezel, the inner face of the watch). 12 o'clock moves to 1 o'clock. But the 12 O'clock indicator is still at north. What an ECU update does is it moves the WHOLE bezel to match the new 12 O'clock position. Making your bike run better on a misaligned system. It may seem great, but its not really working efficently. So gotta fix this by moving the face back North. I know its confusing but i hope you can understand.

 

Anyway the stalling issue is fixed. And it hasnt stalled or come close to stalling again. My fuoco has an akra exhaust and Dr.pulley installed so I can say, that doesnt make the bike stall.

 

Its so simple for my case.

 

Read online for other bikes and cars that have stalling issue. I think the mistake was to generally search for "Fuoco Stalling Issue". It happens to many vehicles such as cars not just these bikes.

 

A solution for this 'common' problem is to clean the throttle body, or the Fuel injector.

 

What i did was use the STP fuel injector cleaner. you can find these at almost any petrol station. Its a black bottle. I saw it at $8.90 at SPC and $10 at Caltex.

 

Please note that it doesn't work right away. It took me 3 days for it to settle in. If that does not work still, service it at a mechanic. Just tell him to clean the throttle body. Should cost maybe $50-$60.

 

Do not empty the whole bottle into the tank (Even if its full). In fact i believe i used a lot. I used the neck of the bottle, for a full tank. If you used a lot, pump regularly because the cleaner is difficult to burn and will result in a loss of power.

Stalling on Fuoco has been mentioned for as long as the bike is around. I understand from AC motors that ADH has even replaced the injector body under warranty for some bikes but with mixed results.

 

Fortunate to report that my bike has zero stalling problem. Very lucky. Mine is a 2012 model, last year of production I believe.

I have been in contact with AC motors about this.

 

Just to be clear my bike used to stall frequently when slowing for a hump or a stop. Basically when i go slow from 30kmh and above. When the RPM reduces to 2, it will suddenly drop to 1 and below. That drop causes the stall. After using the FI cleaner, RPM never drops below 1.5 when stopping. This is my observation to all who needs it and what worked for me.

I tried the Fuel Injection Cleaner & it works wonder, now the stalling is almost gone. I am only the first tank of fuel, it should be better the I clean again with the balance for the 2nd tank topup. AC Motor did a great job with my Foco, now everything work smoothly - Thank you Chong.
