but liverpool winning 5 (FIVE) European Cups and man utd winning only 2 European Cups...thats no mistake.

Hmm...

Its time I put in a controversial statement.

See, every season, I try to make a prediction in terms of who is worth buying over from rival teams.

Chris Kirkland and Peter Crouch were my only 2 guesses and they are on spot. So let's try this again:

What if, LFC were to win UCL again, we make an offer for.......

Wayne Rooney?

After all, in the Man-Yoo team, he's the only one clearly showing effort, other than Park Ji Sung.

We need a hardworking goal-scoring machine up front.

I'm sure Rooney needs a successful team winning trophies, not a team of sponsors and reputation only.

Working together, I'm sure EPL success is within grasp.

So, why not?

*laughs to the tune of an evil song.....*

UEFA charge Essien

Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien has been charged by UEFA following his tackle on Liverpool's Dietmar Hamann in Tuesday's Champions League clash at Stamford Bridge.

The Ghana international caught the German midfielder below the knee after a late challenge during the goalless draw but was not punished by the referee.

The 23-year-old summer signing from Lyon will face a charge of gross sporting misconduct at a hearing on December 15.

Essien's tackle proved the main talking point from the game as, despite the result, both sides had already qualified for the last 16.

Hamann described the tackle as 'the worst I've suffered in my career' and questioned how Essien escaped formal punishment on the field from referee Herbert Fandel.

UEFA have now acted retrospectively after studying video footage of the incident, perhaps prompted by comments about the tackle from FIFA president Sepp Blatter.

Blatter pointed out that video evidence can be used for incidents not seen by the referee at the time.

This differs from another controversial incident involving Essien earlier in the season after a tackle on Bolton's Tal Ben Haim in a Barclays Premiership match.

On that occasion Essien was booked by Rob Styles, but after seeing replays the official later said he should have sent him off.

The Football Association, however, did not have power to upgrade the yellow card to a red on video evidence as the incident was deemed to have been dealt with on the field.

Essien's tackle on Hamann was not spotted by Fandel or his assistants.

Yeah!

Ban the bugger.

Finally got to see the incident on last night's ESPN Football Crazy.

Totally reckless. He wasn't even going for the ball. My suspicions are that Chelsea knew Hamann and Sissoko holding the central midfield are depriving Chelsea of any attacking moves. So they had to take one out.

Also, this Essien is trying to project himself as the next hard-man, the tough-tackling team-psycho like Gerrard, Roy Keane, Stuart Pearce or Viera that other teams will fear & respect. But the only thing he's doing right now is making a big fool of himself and earning the hatred of other teams.

Hope UEFA does something this time.

And I still hope Lyon gets to face Chelsea in the next fixture. Heh heh heh....

Riding isn't my hobby.When i ride,i feel at one with my bike.It's a passion,a way of life. .

Unlike a car driver,a biker is exposed to the wind, rain, heat, flying insects and vehicle fumes, all which make the ride a total sensory experience.

The control and foucs needed on the road remove all cares from my mind, while negotiating sharp bends is the most exhilarating and exciting. . .

Yo WildCard bro, tat Essien do need a lesson to be taught. But dun forget tat in soccer too clubs need a lot of luck to stay as the European Champs.

If no luck, u remember the team kena the goalpost 4 times but no goal? Tats awful man.

Wat i can say is, good luck Liverpool. :thumb:

yes,

and its with that "lesser" players that honors are won.

Whoever expected a team of Igor Biscan, Djimi Traore, Neil Mellor, Neil Warnock and even Salif Diao would go on to be Champions of Europe? They certainly don't have the pedigree of bigger teams like Man U, Arsenal or even Chelsea.

Yet, they did win.

On the hand, who expected a team with "greater" players like Rooney, Van Nilsterooy, Ronaldo and that 112,000 pounds per week Rio Ferdinand.... to get knocked out of the group stages?...

Back at you, buddy.....

actually it was a neutral statement, not aiming or pointing anything.

i donno why Lpool fans nowadays are so proud of their C.League glory. not like as if they won domestic honours also. or have been a formidable team for so many seasons. its just a one-off thingy. unless they win the C.League again this season, they are just another team.

bear in mind that they are in this season's C.League after much pleading. actually they didnt qualify for it.
