Hi chiok_2727

Welcome to the forum!

First, there are two feasible alternatives, Do-it-yourself (D.I.Y.) or purchase the accessories elsewhere (online shop or accessories shop) and have another mechanic from another shop to perform the installation. Most accessories available locally or in Malaysia or Thailand which, usually meant for Honda Phantom or Steed could be fitted on with minimum effort of modification or neither at all. Some suggesting locations to where you could find these accessories locally, (Infamous Aunt shop, Lim Ah Boy, Regina, Loois, Chong Aik etc). However, if you are looking for original accessories (e.g. windscreen, backrest, exhaust pipes etc) meant to fit on Daelim Daystar, where else but Choong Kok?

Second, my opinion on engine modification would require an adequate mechanic to perform the job. I suggests Mr. Roy from Kaki Bukit branch as he had good knowledge on this model but if price is your concern, I suggests otherwise. However, you should be aware that performance or stock components for this engine is only available at Choong Kok thus, it doesn't matter which workshop you are going to visit, because eventually when coming to placing order for the required performance components, one would still need to liaise with Choong Kok. My thought on this? This is time wastage and not to mention the service charges from the third party workshop may not set you off with much saving either but in fact, with that little sacrifice on their knowledge base too. Just a side note, some mechanics may also suggest use of compatible components which, you may want to exercise your judgement carefully before committing to it.

If you have come to term that you would still want a suggestion to where you could modify your engine with reasons that maybe related to your experience on customer service, price or simply just location; I suggests Rosli.

Good luck!

hey man,

i ride a daystar too. same colour scheme as yours. been moddin (so far only cosmetically) here and there ever since i got it hehe. u might wanna check out the other cka branches at toh guan, where u can do paintjobs, find dragstyle or mini-apehanger 'bars. last time i was there, the fella was selling a full fender set, the swoopy lookin type. i also heard that at the bukit batok branch u can get a roadking style headlamp, deflectors and other stuff. cka can also mod the pipes to be louder n give alil more power, but alas it's illegal.

it is pretty pricey so usually i check out shops like ah boy and nearby places. i also got a friend who helps me wire up some leds and a brakelight. motoworld has got some drag specialities mirrors, n u can also order stuff off the catalog thru em.

happy moddin!

the paintjobs cost ard 400 plus if done by cka, u might wanna check out other places. there're quite a number of threads on painting here.

i used to have kappa e21s on my daystar, but i replaced them w point 33s cos i wanted enough space to store a couple of helmets plus raincoats n so on. alas it means i can't squeeze (except on expressway), but i don't mind much. also any stuff that you put onto the bike will weigh it down and also cause more wind resistance. i struggle to reach 100 in a cross/headwind.

anyway the e21s or my point 33s don't look as nice as saddlebags, but they're better in terms of weather resistance and are lockable. looks wise, u can always get a coupla shiny studs or 'chrome' strips, a glue gun and funk up the boxes :)

a biker friend of mine showed me where i could get LEDs from a shop in Sim Lim towers, 3rd floor, where they sell them by strips. then with his help, i glued it onto wherever i want them, like my speedo cos the speedo illumination is damn crappy imo, and tapped into the bike's power supply.

hope this helps :)
