so long u dont go on the track sight-seeing lor.. dat one trackday, got a fazer 1000 goin at abt 100 along the back straight waiting for disaster to happen.. and we're goin at abt 200+.. speed difference of 100+.. imagine if i couldnt avoid him and take him frm behind... i would expect u to push hard in the straight no matter wat bike u're riding. cant be helped if u're riding a small bike, and dats fine. but u're riding a 1000 and doing only 100 in the back straight?? LOL and ya.. keep to one side of the track always, not stay in the centre. that idiot was riding on the centre of the track. LOL

yow. it seems we have a very proficient and uberfast track rider here.

you seem to have forgotten, PG is open to the public. although yes i agree some of the guys DO go very slow, but hey. maybe its their first time down? why would you hit them? its a straight. and a very wide turn 2. how fast can you take turn 1? you'll still need some time to accelerate to 200+km/hr. in that time you can easily change ur lining to overtake the guy when you see him there right? if thats the lining he wants to take, why not?

i'm not very fast bro... dont get me wrong.

of course u still have time when u accelerate to 200+.. u have all the time.. wat concerns me is if he suddenly comes into my line wen i jz abt to overtake him? I hope u dont think i'm so stupid to actually hit him when i've already seen him from afar. and ya... i'm not that skilled yet that i can change my lining when my front wheel is just beside his rear wheel. i bet u can.

yeah, turn 2 is a wide turn... probably for u.. i'm not that skilled yet.

turn 1, how fast i go? i really dont know cuz i merely glance my tacho, not my speedo.. advanced riders however might have the time to read their speeds.

maybe u're more skilled than me that u can brake 200-100km/h immediately?? i guess so. coz i cant. yes its a public track, open to everyone. i dont blame anyone for that. but basic courtesy in this case would be goin fast wherever u can.

pls read up ur track ettiquette b4 u go for track days.. u dont have to be a fast rider to go into track.. but dont be an ignorant rider. there are flags that u should know of, things u should do when u plan to enter the pits and wat to do when u know fast riders are coming up behind u.

of course its hard to suddenly try to changing ur lining when you go at that kinda speeds. but tell me, how the other guys do it? you can always take a wider line or can wait for a chance to overtake him right?

i seriously doubt you can take turn 1 at 200kmph. thou truthfully i dont have a speedo, no money to buy an extra one for my nsr ^^

from 200-100kmph immediately? i have the exact same bike as you. thou i havent went to pg with my r6 yet, i feel that of course you cant brake immediately but it'll be quite fast no? especially if you slow a lil beforehand when you realise there is someone in front. what, you're in a race? need to full throttle all the time? i know you want to practice (i do too), but seriously unless you book the WHOLE track for yourself, you'll be faced with these kinds of prob all the time where you need to overtake someone in front.

what im trying to put across is so what if the other guy is riding a fz1000? it could be SO many reasons why hes going at 100. either hes new and is trying to let ppl overtake him, his bike has a prob? he doesnt know someone is behind? he just started his warm up lap. blah blah? its up to the rider coming from BEHIND to know when to overtake and to LOOK OUT for the rider in FRONT right? you must understand some of the ppl are new. they would want a chance to learn.

yes you do have a point where you said its basic courtesy to go as fast whenever you can, but as i mentioned above, theres so many reasons why the guy is not doing it. if you felt that the guy was doing something REALLY wrong, why not just have a chat with him after you both go back to the pits?

dude, the way you said it was a lil off i felt. i dont know that guy, but i feel that everyones there to learn and have fun. no point trying to laugh at ppl or call ppl idiot right?

Wah.. I am damn angry!

Just now I was riding out of the Blk 31 area, going towards Atrium. Some inconsiderate childish bloody public nuisance splashed water on me!

I remember I was riding super slowly, because in front got a stationary lorry, and opposite lane got an oncoming taxi.

And even got some pedestrians crossing the zebra-crossing.

Then out of nowhere, this bloody son of a b!tch emptied a bottle of water on me, but I didn't have the chance to find the culprit!

Kena my face and my shirt. Felt so insulted!

Ngee Ann nowadays still got these kind of fockers?

yes, u can do it too.. even me.. wat i'm talking abt is the worse case scenario. tell me something i DONT know. if i hadnt taken the outer line/safely waited for my chance to overtake, i would've hit him and wont be posting here. my point is, the rider should've read up track etiquette b4 goin for track. that way, he wont pose a hazard to other riders. HAZARD is the keyword here.

well since u say it like this, i dont really get the point why others go track for. i may not be in a race, but why wouldnt i go full throttle as much as i can? MY objective is to go around the track as fast as i can... not any other objectives.. These problems will always be around bro.. but by having a good etiquette, u make it safer for everyone. not just me. but seriously, u must be kidding if u say u dont go full throttle on a straight. if so, i really dont see the point in going for trackdays..

if he's new, then he should've have asked wat to do in certain circumstances. there is no need to TRY and let ppl overtake u. but u need to be on the proper side of the track if u're not going fast, not in the centre bro. he's endangering others and himself. if his bike got a problem, he should be OFF not ON the track. Even warming up tyres, there's a proper way to do it, and not being in the centre of the track. yes it is UP TO THE OVERTAKING rider to look out for the OVERTAKEN, but it also depends on the MUCH slower rider if he had given ample space for others to overtake him. being centre, he could go left, or go right. how am i to know when and where he is going to go? if he had stayed left, the only place he can go is right. this way, i know i can overtake him from the right, so i will stay as far away from him when i do overtake him. Safer, right? u dont ask, u wont know. wen u know nothing, u learn too.. but u'll take much longer, go thru the harder way... and may cause accidents along the way. up to u to decide which is better.

and tell that to the MANY many ppl who doesnt know anything but are just eager to go on track. some may not be from this forum, some may not go to the internet to read yes? its just too bad the officials at PG dont really explain etiquette and stuff before they allow you on track. but at 35rm for weekdays and 50rm for weekends and 80rm for the 3hr trackdays, i suppose you cant expect much huh? i was lucky to have ppl to tell me what to do, and what not to do. but i suppose some ppl dont have yes?

yes i understand what, but cant you understand some ppl dont know? its only up to the ppl who do know to teach them. and to beware of them since you already know that this prob will always be around. seriously doesnt it really depend on the individual's friends or whoever brings them down to brief them or to teach them? ya too many sight-seeers, yah, but no choice leh. u if u realise they are doing something very wrong and dont tell them, wont they be making the same mistake again?

yes learn.. and have fun.. the right way PLEASE. it wouldnt be much fun if i smacked up the back of u, and we sit down in the pits together thinking abt how we're gonna get home, right? i seriously support everyone's who there to learn, but wen u do, pls learn from someone who knows better than u, and not by urself cuz the time u learn is the time u involve urself in a near-miss... even worse, in a crash. if u're there, then its too late. if u only have minor injuries, its good. but when its serious injuries, i jz hope its not too late. i come frm a background of a couple of broken bones, so i know how much it hurts, how long it takes to recover.. i just dont wanna go down again due to a rider who's lacking etiquette, who's just learning. i'm learning too.. but i'm glad to say, even thought i aint that fast on the corners, at least i dont make the faster riders behind me gamble their lives each time they wanna overtake me. i'm glad to have friends who are very experienced to teach me a thing or 2 abt good track etiquette. think abt it.. crashing during a full lean isnt as bad as being above 200 and hitting into something.

obviously they dont. so teach them. (im repeating my point here)

i'm really sorry if u take to heart when i used the term 'idiot'... but seriously wen i posted, i was really light-hearted, meaning i'm just taking it with laughter. i'm not poking fun at him.. i'm not laughing at him.. i'm laughing, thinking abt the situation.. get my point?

dude, im not taking it to heart. ya maybe u laugh at the situation, but i suppose it came out a lil bit wrong. i just feel its not nice calling ppl idiot, and saying they should have learnt proper etiquette blah blah blah and you not bothering to look them up to tell them.

nothing against you. just the way stuff came out

haha.. so ur point is ME teach THEM?

if i wanted to, i would've opened a school for them and probably make some money.

anyway, for that fazer guy, if he WERE in the group i went with, i would have pointed that out to him..

now MY POINT is

these ppl are just ONE yahoo/google search away from these information. No need to search la.. Just log in SBF On The Track, u can find the link to Track Etiquette already. Its so easy. U dont even have to spend any extra money other than ur internet bills bro.
