IE kenna virus?

I keep getting this URL in my IE. No way to change it. think kenna virus.. dunno how come kenna also..

anyone knows how to cure this?

Does this happen when you open an Internet Explorer window?

 

Also, what happens when you change your default homepage to "Use Blank"?

whatever i change the default homepage to, the moment i click on apply or ok.

The textbox freezes and hang The IE.

Open the IE again, its still the same thailand url..

 

I am running avast home edition..

scanned throughout the night.. caught nothing..

and my firefox mysteriously crashed when i was running trend micro housecall 6.5.

try deleting/clearing all ur temp internet files..

then reset ur home to google or sumthang..

see ok not..

Some strange things has happened to the cyber world in Thailand. Thousands or possibly ten of thousands are now infected with some virus called the “People Republic of Thailand (PRT)” where suddenly the first url of Internet Explorer application will be pointing to ‘people republic of thailand’ although the result would be a failure page.

 

Although it is a simple virus that can be easily fixed, the political context of which the virus is spreading is quite interesting.

 

Many liberal as well as left-wing groups in Thailand are now deeply concerned about the relationship between the military, monarchy and old economy capitalists. The PRT virus might be just a tip of the ice berg of things to come, at least it shows how the geek underworld in Thailand is now waking up to Thai politics. In fact, the Internet is the only place where people with non-conforming political beliefs freely discussed their diverse opinion without the bound of traditional media.

 

Of course, the new Thai computer crime law is catching up with this whole new game. I believe this kind of restrictive law would only catalyze further protests in the cyberworld in Thailand that eventually will breach into the physical reality soon enough.

Thing is... i din even use my IE to surf. i use Firefox..

Left my Bt running overnight, this morning woke up. BT program shut down, open my IE see that URL...

do u have window defender ?

that has one feature to restore IE if highjacked by others.. u can dl it if u r using authentic windows.

(or at least u need validation key)
