Need advise for Chain replacement.

Should i replace the front & rear spoket + the chain or just the chain?

I went down to Boon siew, someone advise to change a set while others said is ok to change just the chain? I am confused!

Kin Tai quoted me EK chain for $80 - O ring type.

Normally, as a precaution and to save rider of any hassle or unexpected headaches from worn sprockets causing premature wear-out on the new chain, most mechanics suggests changing all three components together. One could also change just the chain alone and monitor the worn-out rate of the front and rear sprockets every two weeks. Chain is available at most places such like, Lim Ah Boy, Regina, Chong Aik, Eversuccess, Motorworld etc. Are you intending to change the chain on your own? Otherwise, any workshops out there should be able to serve you with your request.

If your sprocket is not worn out and the chain is still going strong then you can simply tighten the chain,of course till a certain extend. Both work hand in hand with each other. Bad sprocket good chain or bad chain good sprocket, you'll still have bad performance. If the time is near and you have the extra cash, then might as well change both, you'll have ease of mind and no worries when riding.

You can try Planet Motor at Ubi or my personal fav Rosli at Eunos area (Behind Singpost). Rosli has worked with quite a number of cruisers and some Shadow riders do go to Planet. Can go down for a recce and feel the vibes before you actually commit.

If DIY, anyshop that sells parts will do I guess.
