dragstar gearbox problem

hey any bros here got any ideas how much it cost to replace the

400cc dragstar my gearbox. my gearbox now is giving me problems was told by a mech that it need to replace the gearbox.. need to know how much it cost to replace one thanks.

change gear box = full overhaul = 1K+++ at least...

 

resale price of dragstars not very high.

 

maybe you may like to consider changing bikes.

ya getting another bike but intending to keep the dragstar also.. coz now driving most of the time. if abt 1k plus i dun think very worth it. but any recommendations on where to fix it cheaper now bike currently at ASP

waiting for their quote if above my budget i might as well lay it up until it get a 2nd hand gearbox. thanks bro

Maybe you can try asking Rosli at Eunos area? He has worked on a couple of dragstars before

why must you change the gearbox? are the gears broken?

 

can the bike still be ridden? changing of gears very stiff? if the bike can be ridden i don't think you need to change the gearbox. even if the gears are broken, you only need to change the broken gear or 2.

 

maybe the mech u brought it to has no time to dismantle the whole gearbox so he suggested to change it.

 

it might be a small bearing that's broken.. why not bring it to the agent and get them to verify the problem.

my whole gear teeth all become very thin already ...even the shaft was also not spared...haiz hope this one can last me for the next 9 yrs..lol

You mean you changed the WHOLE SHAFT too??

 

I heard the whole shaft will cost like a thousand dollars or so.

 

Or maybe it is the shaft of my ride that will cost so much and it cost cheaper for a 400cc ride?? Just curious.

my ride is almost 12 yrs plus..dunno where is rosli shop just go somewhere near my work place..ya bro changed the whole shaft from front to back..

checked with some shop most not interested to do also and the shaft not easy to find some bike shops called and could not order the part..

cost me 1.1k loh plus worksmanship and bigger cc should cost more

...i sianz half already spend so much so might as well go all the way and make my ride looks better

Yah, you are right, since spend so much liao, might as make your ride look better and maintain it properly and ride for long.

hahah that is mine confirm. my right the dragstar is without the star dunno how it came off..wait till end of the year get bonus then go repaint it..and its FN..i always maintain the bike properly coz dun wana push bike when it breaks down..i get moody when my car or bike got problems..

by the way u always pass by the saloon ar.. if not i think yr blk dun have to pass by my block loh.hahhaa
