btw can ask u sumthin?...if i change my sprockets to bigger size..add 2 more teeth, will it improve my pickup considerably? me dun mind losing a bit of top...but not so much lah

er... need some help guys, in spotting a FQ1xxx ZXR4 in the east... probably a L8, but i know nuts about IL4 400cc machines let alone parts prices for possible repairs i need to carry out..

 

certain faults i was able to identify:

1. a CBR muffler was bolted on, very sadly by drilling extra holes in the stock mounting plate.. sigh.. any idea if stock mufflers would fit to a micron header or something? source tells me it won't. would this "modified" exhaust leak if the stock muffler was used again?

 

2. rear goodridge line definitely looks wrong.. way too much slack..

 

3. head fairing wiring is a mess... ugh.. see some loose ends here and there..

 

by the way 72k km on the clock does seem high, but haven't fired up the engine at all when i was there.. how does it sound?

Saw from the other post on OTR new bikes, that ZX4 is 13.8k most likely L9 brand new ....

 

Price puts me off ....

dun mind i ask u tis question. . .if u do buy a 1st hand r u gonna keep it 4 quite some time or r u gonna juz ride a year den upgrade?

 

more on the $ terms...its more advisable to get 2nd hand but gotta check the bike once thru first . . .

hi i'm considering 2a sportbikes n it seems the zxr400 comes recommended...

 

i've tried evershine auto on a sat noon - abt 2pm - but they were not open. tried calling so far nobody picked up the phone... any ideas?

 

i hv concerns that dis bike, being somewhat uncommon, might hv problems that ur usual motorshop wouldn't know how 2 fix. does any1 know of shops that r skilled wif zxr400s?

Evershine is open on Mon to Fri, 8.30am to 5pm. Sat is 8.30am to 1pm, half day. Close on Sat.

but it's quite discouraging that evershine doesn't hv the usual working hours of other motorshops. might b difficult 4 me since i normally go 2 the mechanic on sats...

There's a difference between moving off slowly and playing with your throttle and clutch to pick up fast. Maybe that ZX4 just wanted to move off slowly? Not everyone will whack their throttle to zoom right to the front after the lights turn green.
