hmm... over a week now. any1 still interested in getting the suspension right n whether il4 is still keen?

 

i'm not familiar wif locations in the west... so will need il4 2 suggest a place. just gimme address; i should b able 2 find it.

 

just changed tyres to gpr70 n i must say, now cornering rocks! after some sedate riding 2 rid the tyres of the wax, of cos. along wif chain n sprockets, n change of engine oil 2 esso gold 4t + oil filter, i've been set back almost $600. all done at looi's.

 

i'm happy wif bike now. just need a little more tweaking. maybe even rejetting it? :D

how much u change the GPR70?izzit reasonable for $270 include alignment?

eh... cost me $320 leh. right now set 33/36 psi front/back. seems 2 b the recommended pressures.

 

by the way i saw ur goldenboy i believe... sitting in looi store level. left side is bad, i presume it landed on its left.

how much do u guys think it will cost if i were to do a full service on my zx400l1..these are the problems ....

 

1) carb tunning n servicing (my bike drink alot of petrol man!!..use to be 280km frm full tank to reserve now 160km liao!! cant tahan)

 

2) tried to wack my bike but found that that the speed stops at abt 150km/h then cannot go liao....full throttle also like that dunno whats wrong also?? :confused:

 

3)rear suspension got squeaking sound...

 

4)radiator got a damm small hole that i think needs to be patch back...

 

well...the list goes on....abit regret that i buy zxr400 after 1yr since i first got it....parts SUPER difficult to get....Anyone got any idea where i fix all these problems.... :?

i found out abt the consumption of the petriol afew wks after i went for servicing......

 

the problem whereby the speed can onli stay at abt 160km/h was veri long liao... i thought it was the carb tuning that was wrongly set so didnt press on the prob...till now i go servicing so many time liao then i tink maybe realli got something wrong but dunno wat also.

 

the rest of the prob i think can do .... :sweat:

 

got any intro on where to fix these probs :?

maybe u guys can give me a rough figure...so my wallet can get prepared... :D ...or else kena heart attack ....

Some are very old but there are also newer ones. Newest model is the L9 model in 1999. Even a new one now is a L9 model. Last i heard was $13.8k for a new machine from Kawa agent Evershine Autos.

There are H and L models. And under L models there are L1 to L9, L1 1991 production, L2 1992 and so on. The newest model is L9 and that doesnt mean it is old, just that they only produce till L9 model only. But I heard from Evershine that they will not be bringing in anymore zx4.

Ususally when to change gasket and valve clearance?

 

 

Service Carb, valve clearance, change gaskets, change engine oil(3 bottles). I was quoted $300+ at Asphoon, reasonable? Went to Kawa agent they quoted me Carb($80), Valve clearance + gaskets(ard $300).

When you do your valve clearance you will need to change your gaskets cos they cannot be reused. Then when to do valve clearance depends, the zx4 guidebook recommend 24000km.

i replace mine when with a yamaha rectifier when mine got fried about six months ago. no problem so far so i guess it should be ok. its much cheaper than the original kawa rectifier for sure.
