Skidded my bike! Help!

Hi all,

 

My bike (Vespa Primavera) skidded today and dropped to the tarmac. I'm ok but the bike is fairly scratched and scrapped on one side. Can I paint over that side or must paint the whole bike? Where should I go to have it fixed? It is still under warranty and under comprehensive insurance. Does that help?

You should call ur insurance company or go to a vespa shop.

You might need a police report if you do so, self skidding will result you to be fined with demerit.

That one can consider minor scratch. Heart is more painful, yah?

 

Anyway, Comprehensive Insurance also got excess limit, most probably S$500. You can only claim an amount minus the $500.

If repair is not expected to be too high (less than or slightly over $500), just ownself pay for repair will do. Otherwise the no claim bonus would be reset to zero and your next few year's insurance would be expensive.

 

Go get help from your usual bike shop to touch up the scratches. If found cheaper, could just replace that 1 piece of plastic.

why would anyone in their sane mind go file a police report if they self skid and not seriously injured, that's akin to slapping yourself in the face.

my friend skid on his vespa once on a public road, he was hospitalized, the police and paramedics came because of the seriousness, the police actually "threaten" to fine him because the skid actually damaged the road but they "let him off", moral of the story, self inflicted accident, don't go reporting to authorities for no reason

For vespa, if you don't spray the whole body again, there wil be two tones. So it's best to spray the whole body. But if you can live with the battle scars, then just ride with it for a little longer. Fall a little more then spray everything together. I waited 3 years to spray my next color because I fell on my vespa on both side, then dented. Haha. make more sense since I could live with the scars.
