Hie guys, iwan here.....

i juz bought a sp1 at $12000 machine price....i tink 01 or 02 model not sure the shop also never say properly......

 

is it a good buy? it comes with rear ohlins shock, moriwaki racing footrest...tatz wat the shop told me and ohlins steering damper...bike mileage at 40000km...only two owners previously.....

 

i dint plan to buy actually but was mesmorize wen the guy at the shop switch on the engine....it was definetely more shiok than my previous bike rvf.....

 

wanna ask the experts here.....is the maintenance of vtr sp expensive.....i spend quite a bomb on my rvf maintenance but really it is worth it........coz its a v-twin and im a diehard v-twin......

 

i beleive im talking to v-twin lovers here coz my friends dun really understand why i didn buy a new r1 or cbr1000.........but seriously i beleive theres only a selected few singaporeans tat realy a die-hard v-twin lovers.......me would haf bought a ducati if i can afford it.....

 

so wat u guys tink....is $12000 for a five year old bike a good catch? seniors, ps advise....thanks

12k juz machine quite EX lo...where u bought 1, come wif nice no like fs*** etc 3 same no. if not than really veri ex lo... $12000 for 40k mileage quite la if plus the ohlins damper & moriwaki footrest

 

maintenance is abt the same as any class 2 & 2a bikes + onli need 2 plugs more savin than others bikes so no worry, juz dun encounted major problem can liao

Agree with VTR1000SP, 12k is abit X, cos if ur bike is FS plate, it should be 6yrs old liao.

im riding a FS plate too, mi bike reg is 2000. but then again, if it comes with all those accerssories. its still okie.

 

40000km is okie. mi bike is abt 37000.

 

maintenance of the bike is juz like other bike. take care of it, n it wont cost u more.

i warm up abt twice a week, + take it out for a ride once every 2 weeks.

 

its better if u do more than just start up the bike, i used to do tat, start the bike once a week, run for 10 - 15mins. then there was 1 day i happy happy took her out for a ride. when i reach mi destination, off engine. go buy drink, cum back, the bike cant start liao. best of all, i was in a open air carpark, sky turn dark, n b4 i can do anythg, it had to rain.

so no choice, call tow lorry to tow mi bike lor.

went down bike shop, mi mech told mi batt spoilt, cant charge liao. change new batt. so, from that day on, i try to start twice a week n ride once every 2 weeks.

 

actuali hor, i onli guess abt mi milage 1, veri long never go check, tmr check again, think its time for mi servicing liao anyway.

im only collecting the bike on june20 as it is my birthday...i be 26 then...if i were to take the bike nw, i stand to lose up to $600 for insurance alone.....

 

so as it stands im only paying around $1000-1100 for insurance (TPFT-NTUC)....may i noe how much r u and the rest of vtr bros paying for insurance....

 

actually there another model going at $9500 but i choose the $12k model coz it comes with plenty of accessories and its a FT plate 2001 model..

 

aniway, hope to join you guys soon for outing.....nw me onli riding super 4...i scared i be left behind nw...hehehehe:cheer:
