Hissing sound could be OLD brake pads rubbing on metal wires to tell you that you need new brake pads .

 

Tires depends , we are all not race buffs, so a race tire on 99% street use is not so right cos of expensive wear due to soft compund, danger due to slow tire heat -up , the 1st corner round your block could be on cold tires !! etc.. I feel the best combo would be 2CT tires BT-016 rated so well in latest BIKE magazine combining best grip/longevity - the days of low miles /race compund tires is a tad back dated - & lastly I am smokeypipe - chris tan NOT a new daddy , the new daddy is Honda_vtec-Haresh ha!!! my contact is 9112-1638

745, semi -metallic is sort of semi race pads, good brake power, does consume a little disc - do need a little warm-up on street riding maybe we have a little coffee session next week Friday night KFC ???

Tk God my bike is back wif mi after 3weeks + ! nice to hear the remus sound although right side not in nice look but still work well !

 

too bad my free time crash up wif most of u guys free time...think will had some change on my work time some time after CNY or i will quit..

 

if any meet up on sunday afternoon or later i b the 1st to join !

 

btw the time i post tis msg was 9.09am after a 12 1/2 hrs work & is not easy job...

My friends asked me this past week to go for rides - one to M'cca and today Saturday. SmokeyPipe also informed me he's riding with one of my friends today. I cannot go lah. I told him I'm only free after 2nd Feb for rides:).... lots of visiting to do.

 

Also have to do springcleaning for my house to prepare for CNY and reunion dinner at my place. Hmm..... how come riding bike can go quick and fast but cleaning the house seems like a slow turtle?

You wanna go weekday daytime rides? I will sometimes go anywhere in Johore State(Batu Pahat or Ayer Itam or Kluang or Jemaluang or Mersing or Tengaroh or Sedili Kechil/Besar/Teluk Mahkota or Pengerang-Teluk Sengat/Desaru/Teluk Ramunia/Sungei Rengit, crisscrossing here and there on different routes) on my own. But I'm only free after 2nd Feb.

 

Also, I think it's always better to have a job waiting before quitting from a job.

Ya , we did ride,2 Moto Guzzi- 2 BMWs , 3 Hondas & ONElone Kawasaki ,guess who !! was a quick ,fast ride , & teh nasi lemak in Gelang Patah fantastic !! wow , let me tell the Traffic Jam at Tuas starts at Raffles Conuntry Club ,it is 3 km long BUT bikes NO JAM nice right to ride ????

 

Andy never mind la , tough work is better than no work right ?? next time we can have Sunday afternoon coffee !!!

hey all fine bro. but the rubber dammper behind the sproket is now replaced with improvised rubber tire tubes! no choice, i did in HKL. charged me $25. now got to wait for FJT to open and get the 6 pcs of rubber. loving this bike, gear one 4k rpm simply pops the wheel!! whoo haa. tks for the help that day bro. any one organising next outing? this days?

 

got a question on nitrogen filled tires, is it true that it improves fuel economy ? how bout performance?

 

and thin plastics lighter or carbon fiber lighter?

hiya, most likely this shops will use thier same old dirty trick when comes to warrenty issue. first delay custormer for the repair or negotiate for not much of a logic reason... i will see how, on wednesday i will call FJT and check the price, if the rubber is too expensive, i will head to the shop! i dun dare try corner not because of the tire but because of the RUBBER!! haiz

Also, just wanted to know if any one goes to Boon Siew for servicing and parts for your VTRs? Do they carry parts ? Also, what woud be the best slip on for the VTR?

Not sure if Boon Siew servicing the bikes...best is to go other mechanic to do it...As for parts...go to FJT..hmm best slip on is SATO low mount...but non legal on road...st legal i guess is remus...wah Lalvin...is time to buy the bike..
