300-310 before reserve on JB Shell Super

 

270 on JB Vpower

 

so yeah what he's saying is true... think maybe can try jetting if u want to improve ur consumption.

Will try shell super or formula F1.

with V power i can go abt 240+ till hit reserve.

With regards to the jet needles, I believe you guys refer to the fuel jet pins, is it? How much will you say it will cost to change that? Anyway, if it really increases the mileage by so much, anybody wanna change soon?

actually, using petrol with excessive octane number is slightly less powerful than normal petrol as well. there's no point using v-power except for the "cleaning up" it supposedly does for your engine/carb. (high octane number fuels are more stable under compression, won't knock in high compression engines, but their stability is the same reason they don't burn as easily as lower ON fuels.. the effect might be small though)

 

i've been using 92/95 petrol, and i don't use the reserve tap, i've gone to 340km incl. reserve before it dries up (yeap i pushed bike a couple of times ), but usually i aim to top up at 300km.

hey anybody change air filter on bandit b4?

 

after opening the air box cover, i can't seem to put it back tight... theres like 5 clips to secure it but i can only clip 4... like the cover is too small for the box!!! i try until shack den give up...

 

no visible gaps but the cover is confirm not sitting properly in and i'm afraid there will be water getting in with the weather nowadays...anybody got any ideas?

Jet pins I am not really sure which one you refering to.

 

1. Jet needle (located on the diaphragm)

2. Needle jet or emulsion tube (located on throttle valve guide)

3. Needle valve (located at the floats, to shut off fuel when the float bowl is full)

4. Valve needle (the air/fuel mixture screw)

The air filter cover is like that not sure why, but if you want can use duct tape to tape up the side, I used to do that.

 

As long you have the fuel tank on, water will not slip into the air box.

So which is the one that you change that lead to higher and better mileage? Interested in that.

Jet needle, the old one has worn off can see some portion has shiny metal expose and some with nick on it.

k so u wld suggest the ones in a while use v power for clean up under then tht 98 or lower is enough? n give better mileage n performance?

i m considerin, but gonna try using lower than v power see how much difference it makes. other then the jet needle i also thinking abt changing my rear sprocket to a smaller size one hoping to reduce consumption future.
