Thanks for ur suggestions. I believe K.S is the agent for the parts so i believe it has to be the original. But the clause is they wont fix for us the suspension. I believe Guan Hoe the price includes installation. Anyway all workshops charge higher for the parts and another price for the labour. I think i will enquire abt the suspension and compare it with the info in the technical manual if it is similar. Would get back asap.

I would not mind doing it in jb if i know how reliable the mechanic is. Some things have to be done by someone reliable or u are comfortable with. Wats ur say on the mechanic that u see . A.J

A.J, sold ur TDM already????

well..i have no intention to sell it anyway...the reason for the sale bcoz i got a good deal with a lower milege TDM and slightly newer batch..but the owner has got to migrate in 2weeks from the time i post.so thats why i ask the mod to close the thread bcoz i believed he have pushed the bike to the shop since i hvnt come to any straight deal on my TDM.most of the buyer cant come out with any solution on reloaning the bike.

Glad too see the bandit forum still alive, I am an ex bandit rider myself, really missed this bike so much, cause I learn alot of maintenance from it.

Saw some recent post regarding changing the rear shock. I hope too share my experience with you guys. I have inistalled a rear shock on my bandit from 93'GSXR750 myself, it fit in nicely without any mod require. The length of the shock from eye to eye on the 600, 750, 1000 is basically same as the 400, but the spring is much stronger.

The bandit rear shock, eye to eye is 300mm, most of suzuki rear shock will fit but try to avoid the SV650 one coz they are real soft and the haya one are too long, eye to eye is 320mm.

My advice is to get the newer one from the gsxr750 (2004 and above), cause they have lower mileage. also adj for preload, rebound and compression is there. But then slight modifiication is require to shift the battery compartment further away to avoid the piggy back reservoir on these newer shock.

Its not hard to change the rear shocks, only require two 14mm box spanner and lots of wD40 and strength to loosen the bolts. I have also installed a Katana rear shock on a gsxr400 myself, so its really not hard at all, but then if you dont want to dirty your hand, then go JB too change coz the labour is cheaper.

great info dude...

But since you managed to source the 93' GSXR750,how come you didnt get the chance to get the whole front set?Fork, clamps, rims, calipers etc...it fits the B4 nicely witout mods as i read some forum..

someone is selling the GSXR rear shock dunno which year for $200neg..i think for those who need the shock badly,go check it out..i think its worth it.

Guys, need some help and advice. Some idiot knock my bandit down to my horror when I got back to the parking lot. Left without a trace! *$%&*@

My side engine cover cracked (the side where the clutch plates are) so it's leaking some oil. I'm thinking of riding it to my mech (thinking of topping up some oil and hope it can tahan till my bikeshop).

Questions.

Does anyone know much for the bandit side engine cover? If you've got spares pls buzz me 94567540.

Is it safe to ride when oil is leaking after topping up (though it's not enough)?

Thanks for the help guys! :)
