Resprayed Bandit

hehehe...my bandit original color all faded already and the fuel tank color dun match oso, maroon, so I repsray using the spray can I'm very please with the result. Gona get the chrome Suzuki bandit stickers from Dawn again, the one I make too big dun look nice. wasted 7 bucks for this.

Total I spent is approx $90, inclusive of paint, laquer, sticker, putty, paint remover and sand papaer. Probably I should have let the shop do it if I know it would have come out so much $$.

hehehe I got a similar box as your, but I found it too bulky and I remove the whole thing and use it as storage for my barang at home.

I shed some weight of the bike from the first time I got it, junk the bulky and rusty IU bracket, metal mud guard and reflectors.

bandit brudders, is your bike rear shocks bottoming out, mine seems to be. When I mount on the bike the bikes seems to lower down quite abit. Mine setting is at no.5.

Any of you change to a better one or send for rebuilt? Saw some cheap SV650S rear shock non adjustable though on ebay, heard it will jack up the rear by 2 inches, and it can be compensated by using a shorter/longer dog bone, not so sure which.

My shocks doesnt bottom out but it is at no.7. Have you tried to make yours at

no.7?

Last time I was looking for shocks replacement so I asked Bikelab (the suspension

specialist) if they can rebuilt bandit 400 shocks but they said they don't do it.

So instead they recommended me better shocks. Its not Penske shocks

but the quality is almost the same. And it costs $1500. Alamak!!!

More expensive than my bandit.

So as you can see, my shocks setting is at no. 7

I was using the Bridgestone BT090/PRO, took it on the UTRR, works perfect for me. Sticks like glue on dry roads, but it seems to wear out faster. I've never push it hard on wet roads, couldn't afford a spill.

I posted the Loobman design on the hands on section. Basically its just a squeeze bottle connected to some clear tubing link to your sprocket and chains. I have started building a prototype of the dual lubrication system, using a Y-joint made by SMC and cable ties. So far not so satisfactory, oil leaking instead of transmitting all the oil to the cable tie.

But it will be cheaper than Chua's oiler if its sucessful because no need to buy the valve for on-off, just need to squeeze the bottle and ride only.

The heat shield is to shield the heat from the engine to the carbs, I notice the bike can get so hot, I cant even touch and hold my carb float bowl for more than 1 minute, can you imagine how hot it is. By keeping the carb cool, I'm hoping the bikes will run much better.

How much did you pay for the stebel horns? can pass inspection or not? LAst time I was using the Hella horns on my gsxr750, because its conceal in side the ferrings so no problem on inspection.

Kenneth

I haven replace my clutch plate, my problem is difficult in shifting down, but shift up and to neutral is very smooth. I guess my problem could be due to the chains too dry, when I lubricates it with chain lube it become better.

Another reason I guess is I'm using the non o-ring chain (change by the previous owner, still very new) and I waiting to replace it with o-rings chain when its worn out to see if it solves everything.

If the bike clutch do not slip think just leave it alone, because the clutch plate (cork mat;l) alone is $85, gasket is $8. If change the metal plate, warp only, is another $70 and clutch hub sleeve(not sure how much, guan hoe says change it too) plus engine oil, the bill can come up to $300++ .

Hehehe...I'm using IRC tires, front and rear, change by previous owner, so far so good, except fishtail once when the rear came in contact with some oil in the carpark.

Can use chiong sprocket for rear, but front preferably use OEM better, because of the rubber lining on it which cushion the chain, lesser noise.

My bike previous owner change front & rear sprcket(chiong) and chain(non o-ring) for $120 only. But I recently replace the front sprocket to OEM for $35 because the chiong one is making too much noise even by pushing ard.

My advice is go LAB to buy your chain and rear sprocket, KS motorcycle for OEM front sprocket then pay workmanship fee to a competant mechanice to change for you should be less than $300.
