Just DIY the fork protector. I use the cap of the carb cleaner, use scissor to cut to shape and secure with cable tie to fork.

The cap is black so no need paint or paste sticker.

Next I'm going to do grounding for my bike. I have got myself quite a thick strand of copper cable.

Bike servicing very similar to the P Model.

VV Model u may ask chinjoon for common wear n tear problems. If i never remember wrongly he changed timing chain, coolant pump or seal and a few other parts. Spark plug cap i heard he changed 6 times :faint: dunno if the workshop he go never fix properly or its common problem with vv model.

Other servicing very similar to any in line for engines la.Just tht vv model also bout 8 years old liow, so expect common wearing parts such as oil seals, engine oil hose, leaking radiator, hose, seal etc.

Not many of us ride a vv here now :D but from all i gather its a powerful bike with higher fuel consumption of course hehehe....so cant provide much infor for u. Hope the others here can provide u more info la

U aiming for the bike in the garage sales?

Kenneth :goodluck:

Dun forget to approach our helpful and friendly chinjoon

Thanks chee_teck....yeah chin has pm me already.....well, I'm still looking around and so decided to get more info abt the bike before making up my mind....anyways thanks u guys...cheers

Changing rear brake pad, get the gold fren brake pad from mah think its abt $17 a a pair.

For the top gasket, you are using back the old one or new one, if you are using back the old one you have any idea where the leak is coming from?? so as to apply sealant at the leaking point. Any color oso can, as long as its the high temp RTV sealant, anyway you cant see much of the sealant when asseemble back.

You wana do the servicing at night?? Then you need ample of light and it would be great if there is a shelter too, afraid it may rain.

I seldom use rear brake, I would use ceramic for my case. For front I use sintered my braking confidence. Sintered good braking power but rotor also wear out faster.

I assume you will birng all the servicing part.

Tools needed will be.

Torque wrench

flat and phillip screw driver

Long skinny phillip screw driver(carb syn)

8 mm spanner

10 mm spanner

12mm spanner

13mm spanner

21 mm spanner

Ratchet

1/4" socket

10mm socket

12mm socket

13mm socket

6mm hex bit

Allen key set

spark plug wrench

Big pliers

funnel

pail

rag

carb syn tool(kenneth tot ya syn ya carb already)

If check valve clearance, bike need to cool down for at leat 12hrs, additional tools

Feeler gauge

17mm spanner

What tool you have in the list then I dont bring.

:sorry: Can postpone the DIY session to next week, prefer to do valve clearance during day time, night time quite diff to see, scared scully drop things inside the engine :slapforehead:

For the carb syn part, maybe your idling is adjusted too high, bring it down a little.
