A few buyer interested in my bike, they will be viewing it next week, but I know they will surely want to bring down the price further, so the transaction may not go through.

If really soemone took over my bike then I sell you the shock lor, definitely will improve the handling once set up properly, no more bouncy ride when going through humps and pot holes.

The shock is the same as my gsxr750 last time, a direct fit for bandit400. I ever go through a dead dog at 140km/h (2nd link) on my old bike and I only felt a slight jerk.

I dunno how much is it, its still for bid on ebay, I'm still the higher bidder at the moment (4hrs towards end of auction).

I know you bought a new suspension from ebay too, because the seller of the thermostat thought I were you who make the payment to him. But I have clarify with him he got it wrong.

Hi all,

Thanks to Gary & Simon, my bike just gone tru a very successful major DIY session. Below are the things done with cost:

1) Change of top gasket (valve cover gasket) - Cost of gasket is $25, 6 mini seal gasket costs $2 each - KS Motorcycle

2) Stator cover gasket - Cost $7 (impromtu item as we found the gasket had plastic) - KS Motorcycle

3) Coolant ($5.50) & High temp Gasket maker or sealant ($4.50) - from hardwareshop at Alexandra village

4) Valve clearance check (set to mid)

5) Cleaning and flushing of coolant parts - radiator pump, radiator, reserve container & changing of hose clips to new SS clips

Now bike feel more powerful & smooth. And the sound of exhaust is more "continuous" hehe....Will report to u guys of the fuel consumption aspect of this exercise.

Next thing to do for next DIY session:

1) Tune carb, change worned/scratched jet needle

2) Change brake fluid, housing and pad - maybe hose too

3) Speedo bulb

4) Headlight kill switch

5) Horn

6) Suspension installation (Gary & kenneth maybe)

7) hazard lights

We end at bout 6pm today. Sorry bout the weird timing. next time will try to arrange a time of convenience again so tht we can meet up together and learn more from each other....today definately had been a very fruitful day for me hehe :)

Thanks again to the two sifus for helping, teaching n guiding along today. Also for the resQ mission, u two deserve a Pasir gudang cheese crab again :hungry:

Never stop learning...

Funny. Why would he think that?

I bought the shocks but it was not for my bandit.

And for my bandit, I tried to bid for a 92 gxr 750

racing shocks two weeks ago but the highest bid

got so high and I backed off. Not enough funds.

At first I thought you have bought your shocks here

in Singapore thats why i asked. Anyways, thanks

for the info.

Did you win the bid for the shocks?

I was watching the yahoo auction too, never come across any gsxr shocks. The one you got is the 93 gsxr 750 shock with remote reservoir?

How did you change the rear shock, is it loosen up the top and bottom mounting bolts of your old shock first. Can I just use the main stand or need a car jack to jack it up before removing the whole shock from the bike?? Any things I should take note when removing and installing the new shock?
