Today when going to work my bike also cannot start, crank abt 7-8 times then it fires up. Also notice my both my front signal light not working but rear is ok.

When I reach my work place I off and start its ok. Few hours later I went to start my bike same thing happen again, hopefully its the wiring problem and not CDI because my front signal light is not working all of a sudden. Will try to troubleshoot this few day to see whats wrong.

Preliminary check found the 2 front signal bulbs has melted, I was astonished because the bulb is actually made of plastic. After I removed the carcass of the dead bulb, the bike fires up in 1 click. Dunno what cause the overcurrent and melt the bulbs, will try to replace with new bulbs and see what happen.

Here's the list of things tat i wanna do.

1.carb svc/sync

3.front fork recondition.

3.change engine oil(will buy from KS)

4.change spark plugs(will buy from KS)

5.oil filter(will buy from KS)

6.change air filter(will buy from KS)

How much will all this cost roughly?1,2,3

How much will all this cost roughly?4,5,6

What color is the smoke?

White - Cylinder head gasket leak, coolant burning inside the engine. Check your coolant level, is it low? Top up and check if it goes low after a few days. White smoke can be cause by condensation in the pipe during very cold weather and its normal.

Black - Dirty/choke air filter, wrong jet size.

Blue - Piston ring worn, engine oil leak into the cylinder. Check cylinder compression to confirm.

I dun think Guan Hoe will cheat you by taking out the good parts and putting the bad one in, they got a reputation to maintain for being suzuki bike servicing centre.

Regarding the fork seal, you can get the seal, dust cover and clips from KS for $44. You can get the fork oil from Mah motorparts(Castrol 10w) or LAB(Putoline 15w). Our fork can use 10w or 15w oil, spec recommend 10w, but I found it alittle soft so I use 15w. You will need 2 bottles of 500ml fork oil.

Also a tip for you, you may want to install fork protector to prolong the life span of your fork. The newer super 4 came with the fork protector, and Mah motorparts sell them(I think can fit bandit4 but not sure how much) or you can DIY yourself by using PVC pipe to act as shield againt stone and insects from flying onto your newly rebuilt fork.

For the cost of workmanship I have no idea because I never bring my bandit to Guan Hoe for service before. You can check with RG on that part.

Brudder, when you free to show me the grounding point on your bandit, I will DIY the grounding cable myself while you guide me?

I won 8 gauge grounding cables from yahoo auction intend to use for my car but there is a guy from SHC can get the Pivot Voltage Stabiliser for car at $90 include installation, hence the grounding wires will be use on my bike instead. :thumb:

Pass by Chiap Lee along Serangoon today, saw some used GIVI box outside the shop. Went in and asked if they are selling those box, was quoted $70 for a old model GIVI maxia box with base plate. W/o hesistation I paid the $$ and installed the box on the spot. I already have a rack installed on my bike, so the installation was a breeze.

The condition of the box is 7/10 because of some light markings I believe can be clean off with kerosence or used Kiwi to polish up. This is only a one time offer, it all depends what kind of second hand box is available at the shop.

Check the sprocket size first and compare against the manual before fark them.

Did you specifically tell them what size to change? If you did and they install the wrong size then you have the right to fark them and asked to change again.

If not then try asking Ah Bee see if can change or not, most probably he will give you all sorts of reason and insist the sprocket size is correct and will not change for you. But who knows if you din try.

hi kaiser,

Are you sure they are Oem sprockets? They are kinda cheap ha. I remember

last time when I changed mine and it cost me $180. And they are not Oem. If I'm

not mistaken, for Oem, it will cost around $300.
