Said "Hi" and "Nice bike!" to a fellow White Triple rider with twin Arrow exhaust mufflers and plate no 90.

I can't say for sure if it was the Street or Speed but it was definitely the newer model cos of the new "Triumph" font and hexagonal headlights.

We were riding along loyang ave after changi village. Nice to see you there, dude!

I have had persistent problems with cracking indicator stems on my 2010 Speed Triple.

It seems that several 2012-2013 Triumph triple models have been recalled to rectify the same problem:

Here is a post with a picture of the most frequent problem which I have experienced 3 times, though I have also had one indicator break on the main stem:

Has else here experienced this problem?

Has anyone support from the local Triumph distributor?

Additional Notes:

If you get a replacement indicator lamp assembly from Triumph it will have the indicator lamp, the stem, and the wire lead. The wire lead needs to be attached to the electrical system in an inaccessible location necessitating removing the tank etc. Fortunately, the indicator can easily be replaced by removing the lens and then detaching the wires at spade connectors within the lamp itself.

On other forums it has been noted that the Aprilia Tuono has the same indicators. I am not sure about the Tuono but it appears to me that Aprilia RS models (125 and up) have an identical indicator lamp assembly but slightly different stems. These might work as a superior replacement though I am not sure how the price compares to the original Triumph part.

It is a common problem bro. The mechs know that well. Most ideal way is to attach the new wire leads to the electrical system. Given the hassle, most people and most mechs just cut the wires, with the 'blessings' of the customers...

I've used race shield, for my Street Triple 2012.

I had my headlight crack due to rock and the race shield start to crack.

You can get the hard plastic from power bronze

The reason why a similar problem occurs with the Aprilia is because the indicator originates from a common source - contract manufacturer.

I do not have this problem as I've swopped out these indicators with barracuda rear mirror indicators.

Changing out the indicators is a matter of minutes, and does not necessitate removal of fuel tank (lifting the fuel tank in order to gain access to wiring - yes - certainly not removal of tank).

I have kept the indicators and they're in brand new condition. I'm quite happy to give it away if it might help replace your damaged ones.

Sry i dont get it, how can the race shield(sticker) crack??

It's just a proclaimed high end sticker, thus a flying solid object that incontact with headlight cause the headlight to crack. Overtime the sticker peel off.

I've switched to traditional plastic headlight protector.

It could be 1 in 1000, perhaps I'm just the unfortunate ones.

Up for grabs is a belly pan taken off my Speed Triple 2011. Cash and carry $100. No fuss, no hassle. The belly pan is completely protected by Race Shield (the Race Shield alone set me back $120), and comes complete with stainless steel mounting brackets, screws, washers - just about everything you need to set this bugger up. Installation takes all of 15 minutes, and you're in business. One small hitch I should mention is that the shape of the black connecting rods seems to have been compromised by the heat from the exhaust, but I've been told that's normal. It's just the shape and nothing else. Have a look at the attached pix yourself. The belly pan is white, but if you don't agree with the colour, just get it re-sprayed or put a sticker over it. Either way, it's still bang for buck at this cheap charlie price. In fact I would say Christmas has come early. So give me a call at 96380063, wish me merry christmas, and the belly pan is yours.

I have an original Bagster Tank Protector for Speed Triple 1050 (2011 model upwards). Made in France. White in colour, and in mint condition. Letting go at $100 cash and carry. Give me a buzz at 96380063 to close!

My Bagster Tank Protector is still sitting pretty in my storeroom and crying out for a new owner. Makes my heart bleed to see her like this. C'mon boys and girls, surely there must be someone interested.

I changed my 2010 Speed Triple seat to the Triumph gel seat. The finish of the seat is nicer but there is only a slight improvement in comfort. Less benefit than I expected.
