[Group] TRIUMPH Speed Triple Riders

It was held at Twenty Six. It's a restaurant located at the former Big Splash at East Coast Park. I think they did not invite a lot of people due to space constraint.

 

How are you enjoying the Speed Triple so far? That bike really looks like it means serious business, as though it will fly off when you twist the throttle. Post some pictures here if you got the time

 

here u go..some mods to consider- bug eyes,bug eye cowl, bellypan, new pipes?

The mods that you mentioned are quite necessary to make your bike look even meaner! How about adding in arrow-shaped turn indicators and new mirros too? Might want to remove the passenger's grab rail and add seat cowl also if you don't pillion people BTW you moved house already?

anyone with the current S triples to comment on the fuel gauge?

 

apparently, there is a lag between filling up and actually seeing a fuel tank on the gague itself, is this correct?

 

after filling up, even after 5mins or so, riding more than 5km,there gauge shows empty, then all of sudden, thebars start rising.

Wah why like that?? That means the low-fuel light will also light up 5mins after it detects the fuel is low?? My god .......... Funny that all the reviews I've read didn't mention this problem. Maybe they did not try refuelling the bike.

 

I think better check with Mah Motors and see what they say ..

on top of them, idling has gone slightly erractic.

 

plugged the ecu into the laptop to find cylinder 1 fuel quantity injection off, causing a plug to foul.

im also wondering howcome like dat.

 

was told a couple of speed triples had their o2 sensor fail before the 1k km mark.

 

2 week wait for the part........for it to fail again later.

 

in the end it was replaced with a blackbird sensor.

 

problem solved.

I'm sorry, what is o2 and blackburn? The brands of fuel sensors used in Triumph bikes? So did they replace yours?

haa at least u guys hv a fuel sensor..to make matters worse my reserve fuel manual switch is spoilt so i go by own 'manual' guage!

 

yohj i still ferrying passenger leh..think it's still more comfortable than a monster..still like the classicness of it..haa n the wail of the triple..

The fuel light on my Monster is faulty too (after my bike was serviced by some shop ) .. so I have been monitoring the odometer since. I'll fill up around 100km-140km of riding. Better play safe.

 

The seat of the Speed is so thick and big, sure looks more comfortable hehe. Oh you have female pillion? Hehe. I'll cover my pillion seat and remove the passenger pegs. No pillions allowed! I've yet to listen to the triple engine in real life. Looking forward it!

Yup every 2-3 days depending on how much I travel. I do recall that the Daytona's exhaust note is a little bit high pitched. So I guess I what you mean is the Street's exhaust note sound lower pitched? You heard the engine in real life already? So far I only heard on youtube. Haha.

 

Just received news of the shipment. 4 more weeks baby .. 4 more weeks!! Yeah!!

Yeah man! I guess Alex's Daytona should be on the same shipment? I'm trying very hard to save $$$ now. BTW if my bike arrives in July, I will be paying the 1st instalment in August right?

 

So your bike ok now? They fixed those things for you?

i have a set of ventura packs and brackets for the t309 speed triple. it will also fit the daytona of that vintage.

i am in the midst of having a bike crap clearance....do let me know if interested...good deal for sure.

The Street Triple feels so light and nimble. I finally got to see and touch it. But too bad, can't start it up to take a listen. I think it is somone else's bike, already sold. Very generous of him to display his bike at the launch. Imagine all the finger prints and pple sitting on the bike going back and forth, up and down. But maybe they offered him $5000 discount haha!

bike fuel gauge has been fixed but the chain issue has improved but its still there. will be taking it back to them when I collect the panniers and touring screen and handguards.

I would really want to take a listen to the engine right before my eyes. The road will not be filled with Triumphs even with 7 bikes sold. It's still very rare and that is what I like hehe.

Wah now got chain issue? What's with the chain? Too loose?

Too tight, too loose, or if any other adjustments are required.

going to the agent today and we'll see if they manage to sort it out.

 

it is very annoying, esp. at lower speeds, 20/30km/h, in carparks, the bike is jerking while you try to get and in of tight spots

concerning the extras, some small parts were allready on the bike, actually it is the white one which is on the pictures during the launch of the street triple ...
