Hi guys,

Vara owner sneeking in the back door  Just to introduce myself in case anyone wonders what the He11 I'm doing here o_O

I am really a closet Triumph Tiger man but ended up with a Vara (backache & bent crashbars not optional extras) and I'd like to keep my nose in the Triumph scene.

Hope you don't mind me sniffing around, promise I'll be good

ure most welcome here :p

unfortunately, other than myself, I have never seen another tiger on the road. y not trade in the vara n join me? :cheeky:

cool.

ure the first tiger owner I know of in sillyspore.

lets meet up sometime with the other triumph owners

I am guessing you are riding the new Tiger? Damn cool machine. I know of only one other steamer Tiger in Singapore. It is at my mech getting fixed.

It is good to see more interest in Triumph bikes. Great machines with awesome aural experience too boot.

Inline-3, where the fun begins at 5000 rpm and madness starts at 6000rpm :p

its an interesting ride so far.

bike didnt really settle in till about 8000km, suspension starts to firm up and my mileage improved quite a bit.

used to get about 310km for 19.5L now its 340 on 19.5L

no change in riding styles or routes. :)

are u a potential triumph owner? :thumb:

My Tiger, being the big trailie model, has a soft front. Dives a lot under heavy breaking but I am used to that.

With dynojet kit, after-market exhaust and tuned for sound instead of economy, I get 11km/lit :)

I am hoping my next bike is the Street Triple R. Now, if only I can convince my wife I really need a graphite black naked bike with 2 bug eyes!

Believe me there is rarely a day goes by that it doesn't cross my mind

I know of two others which I enquired into when they were for sale earlier this year, long story for telling over coffee!

Want some help ;) ?

I just noticed the other day that Triumph are about to release a limited edition Tiger with matt graphite colour scheme (no other changes or enhancements)

11km/L & 13km/L??? :giddy: :giddy:

Prob spend more time at the gas station than on the road :)

the front forks have adjustable compression n rebound and even to the max settings, I find them diving abit even when coming to a slow halt.

Ohlins time!

I suggest you let the wifey know abt the tiger, get her to sit on the comfortable seat and all. Later on, tell her its abit pricey and you will settle on the small cc (cheaper road tax & machine price) triple R instead as a budget option.

Let me know if the above works and I'll practice it to get a 2nd bike :)

The problem is my wife loves my Tiger. She refuses to let me buy any other bike because everything else looks small and timid compared to the beast.

She enjoys being a pillion on this bike much more than any of the other bikes I had.

So I am keeping the Triumph for good unless Blackie21 wants it back someday!

I am working on the Street Triple idea in a slow insidious manner. Firstly, I am using pics of the Triple as my PC wallpaper to let her get used to the idea :)

I am also encouraging her to get her class2, so that the Triple can be her bike! Wishful thinking on my part.....

Very kind, hope we can meet before then though, my friend who has a Speedmaster (only one in Sg as far as I know) said the next event was a long way off.

Wow looks like the thread is alive again!

Anyway just an update. My coolant problem has been solved. Things back to normal for now, except for the irritating ticking noise on the right side of the engine. The noise comes from the chain cam tensioner.

Seldom ride my bike now .. mileage only at 3000km since July ..

Saw a green street triple with arrow exhausts along dairy farm road at about 530 just now, rider was wearing a black FF and black jacket. I think its yohji?

Hi friend, if that guy is also carrying a super big orange backpack, then yes, it was me. Were you riding or driving? Didn't notice anyone looking at me.

Yep, the rider had a tall orange backpack, it wasn't very big lah. I was on a pahntom, wearing a neon yellow mesh jacket. Don't think you'd have noticed me but street triples aren't exactly common in s'pore, especially ones with arrows, so I noticed you.

The backpack is bloody heavy with all the things inside. Riding with it is a torture. Luckily I don't have to do that everyday.

Didn't notice you. Most of the time I am in my own world while riding, seldom like to look around too much unless you are right infront of me, don't want pple to misunderstand that I am staring at them. :)
