Yo patt87, I think you mean SPEED Triple? Cos Street Triple just launched this year. SPEED Triple was launched in the 90s. The newer SPEED Triple is 1050cc. Street Triple is 675cc.

You should be able to find 2nd hand SPEED Triples but not Street Triple cos I don't think anyone is selling so fast. BTW Minime is ridng a Honda CB1000R.

You got to have patience if you want the Street Triple. I waited 2 months for mine ..

I know of an all-black Speed Triple for sale, belongs to a friend. Registered in 2007. 1050cc engine. Triumph Factory Arrow aftermarket short pipe (like R6) not street legal, but has the Triumph logo on it since it's factory specs. Comes with HID headlights, fat handlebar (more aggressive riding posture) and single-seat cowl. Frame sliders all over the bike, too. Low mileage, about 3000+ km only.

PM me if anyone is interested. I'll send the pics and owner's asking price through email.

Yah waited for 2 months back then. Might be faster now if Triumph speeds up production. Got it for 22 grands. Price might have changed now.

  • 2 weeks later...
I just called Mah's about the street triple - it's going at $17k machine price. They have just one unit of the R version which is going for $1.5k more.

If anyone's in the know of someone selling his street triple, I'm interested :)

For the extra $1.5k, you get better brakes, fully adjustable front and rear suspension and fatter handlebars :)

But the question is .. do you need to adjust the suspension or have better brakes than the already near perfect setup of the original Street Triple? Most of us won't even be able to tell the difference hehe. I personally perfer the original. It looks better with gold coloured forks :)

if get both rebound n compression adjustments on the forks and the rear setup, go for the R.

at $1500 more, its def. worth the diff.

not taking into the better brakes.

radial calipers are they?

if u get the std one and ure not happy with the setup, then what?

i believe they are not adjustable?

then fork out another 2k for front n rear adjustables?

are u sure u can get used to the big diff in pwr n torque from the gsxr1k?

haha.........

servicing is normal, oil, filter, coolant and the normal std wear n tears like brake pads, tyres......

but if u break parts like brake levers, foot pegs, indicators n want original

replacements. be prepared to pay n pay............
