Yes, non Triumph owners are welcome to join according to the invitation. If only Triumph owners allowed then it will be hard to find enough riders to make it viable, not many riders "go their own way".

Btw i find the program a bit tight, depart on sat morning, return on sun by 7pm. The actual race starts at 3pm.

yea, it is very tight.

getting out of sepang carparks even immediately after the race takes and easy 30mins tks to the jams because of double, triple parked cars n buses.

and to get out n stay in a group is even more difficult.

Most people go through life following the crowd.

Others think for themselves.

They go their own way.

Hah hah, that is very true. A lot of business trips. So much so that I haven't had time to ride the beast for the past few weeks

Thus leading to a dead battery

Ah Ha, the Tibetan monk returns, you were right he was lurking :cheeky:

Tigger in drydock so it will have to be with the Vara, would be good to catch up, I need to pick your brains on a few things and also have a CD that will probably interest you. Let me know when you can fit us in :cheeky:

Vara is gone but back strain lingers on o_O

Hi,

Mah motors in aug announced price increase for their Triumph motorcycles, avg 3k up. Good for existing owners like me.:)

i still find it affordable compared to the other continental brands. Compare to japanese brands it is cheap and you wont find many Triumphs on the road.

I will be away for most of the next week. Hope to meet up with you and Blackie21 on the week of the 26th Oct. Dinner at east coast? Will contact you guys when I get back from my trip

I think picking Blackie21's brain would be a better idea coz I just follow his advice and buy the recommended parts!

hmm. i was wondering if there will be any space to store say a rain coat or bike cover under the seat of a street triple?

Finally there is a question that I can answer!

No there is no space to squeeze a rain coat under the seat unless ur rain coat is made of super thin material and you fold it in the flattest manner possible. Bike cover, no chance ........... head light cover, yes

wow meaning there is close to zero storage space uh? seems like if i need to bring the bike cover and rain coat out, i'll be needing a bag pack uh. Hah.

You can put some small tools there but not big enough for rain coat or bike cover.

Yeah back pack ... tell me about it ... I've been doing it for the past 1 year ... it's such a pain (literally). But used to it already. It beats putting a rear box on the bike!!! :p

get a box la guys, be done n settled with it :D

45L givi box in the back, throw yr helmet, wallet, mobile, raincoat, raincover in.

:)

y hassle with a 10kg hump on yr back for the next couple of hours and enjoy the ride and be one with the bike.

hehe.

who cares what ppl think or say?

will they be carrying the backpack for u later?

No flame war here. Peace on Earth

You want him to get murdered by other Street Triple riders?

I still remember the 1st and only time that I saw a Ducati Monster with a box. Feels like hitting his box off the bike

When will this eternal struggle ever end ... lugguage space VS asthetics ... :slapforehead:

hehe, no wonder theres not many speed/street triple owners ard, all busy knocking off one another.

when i had my box/pannierless monster, i will ride with just cash, cards & mobile.

forget the raincoat. if it rains, it rains, too bad.

if i need to surf the net, send emails, then I will use my mobile.

i find it defeats the purpose to be bogged down with this extra load if i cannot enjoy my ride just so it looks better w/o a box.

Hi! Welcome to the Striples (Street Triples) Club

Try the Oxford side panniers. But soon they will scratch the side of ur bike. The twin exhausts post a problem too. Another method is tank bag. But same problem. The dirt trapped below the bag will scratch ur tank, unless you clean it diligently (maybe Race Shield will help). Or you can use tail bag. Not as ugly as a hard box, but you can't put on your seat cowl (if you plan to put one). Or just carry a backpack ......................

Your bike, your choice :D

Think I saw a Street Triple along Serangoon North Ave 5 (Seng Shiong) today at around 5pm. I was on my HD today. I turned my head to look at the rider but didn't wave at him. Rider was wearing a white full faced helmet with some graphics.

oh yea, dat was me, sorry, I didnt wave also.

Hehe. Helmet description fits you but everything else don't. That guy was smaller in built. And where did you get a Street Triple BTW (if that were you?) :p

never had a box on my bikes except for a current one that came stock standard with panniers as a sports tourer.

when riding in m'sia, i tend to use oxford panniers but i run one of those big ass bicycle cable locks on them, which can be used as a helmet lock as well.

The Zards sound nice but look too flat for my liking. Still prefer the looks of the round-shaped Arrows.

I miss my Street Triple. Gonna ride it tomorrow :D

no, i dont think thats mine.

i think that could be the demo bike ure referring to.

get the zards as they are legal.

dont worry abt TP or roadblocks as everythings legit.

i dont think u want to be riding with a heavy backpack and looking out for ROV/TP all the time. i bet u know how much the fine is.

spend $20k on the bike only for it to bring u worry hassle?:sian:

Shin,

Yeah don't be like me .. ride around with heavy backpack when going to work. Go install ugly boxes all around your bike so that you can keep your laptop, tools, cables, books, torch light, thumb drives, shoe cover, rain pants, backpack cover, bike cover, hair wax, colonge, water bottle, etc :p

Frankly speaking, I don't really bother about worrying. Been riding my Monster (with exhausts MUCH louder) for 3 years with no problems with authorities. My Arrows are at the legal sound limit with certificate from Arrow and EU (just that they got no LTA cert YET). So they do not sound illegal to attract attention at the very least. And you think ROV/TP officers all have street legal exhausts on their private bikes when off-duty? You'll be surprised .. :p They are also bikers (humans) after all ....

I just ride as per normal, not like a thief .. anyway I was already aware of the consequences when I installed them. Just make sure there is spare $$ in the bank  Want to be good citizen and be 100% law abiding? By all means. But don't tell me you don't even litter or jay walk occasionally? :p And you do not have to look for ROV. They will be looking out for you instead. So can save the trouble and concentrate on the road ahead instead.

BTW, you got to check whether 3-1 are aprroved. It might be a full-system instead of just slip-ons.
