actually, since u own the s4r, how does the 2 bikes compare in terms of handling & performance?

they are the top of the naked range for both triumph & ducati*

*if u exclude the streetfighter

Although they're both naked, but in terms of characteristics they're 2 different bikes. the speed triple is a smooth ride compares to the monster. but i find the speed triple is lacking the top range.

For handling the street triple is way too high for me and since the bike is heavy i can feel the weight, i will say both bike handles well.

Bro, what u mean by " For handling the street triple is way too high for me and since the bike is heavy i can feel the weight" ?

Ok first i guess u mean Speed triple rite..?

Next handling way toohigh means its harder to handle or the handling the bike needs more effort and focus etc?

lastly, more weight then s4rs? I tot both nike are within 5kg of each other.. shldnt be that much weight diff rite?

but the bike is very nice..wish i had whendown to playfair rdon sat...

opss... yes i meant speed not street.

And the sitting position is too high for me, because I’m short.

As for the weight... it feels heavier than the monster (I’m not sure the exact weight between the 2.) but the speed it just seems a bit heavier

Arr.. i see.. Thanks for the clarification.

So i guess the seats are a bit higher... I sat on specialc's s4 and it felt nice.

Just did a quick search for the specs and found the below:

S4RS

Weight (dry) 177kg

Power 130BHP

Torque 76.7

Speed Triple

Weight 188kg

power 132BHP

Torque 77.4

Base on simple math, the S4 will have a slightly better PWR, and having the spuerbike engine i guess it gives a bit more punch high up...

Both are great bikes, hard to choose.

BTW, how is low speed curising for the speed triple?

I understand the S4 is a bit jerky at low speed low rpm situation...

no wonder I always see u hanging out ard the orchard towers area!!

try golden mile nextime, similar fare but half the price.

You must also be hanging around OT to spot me :p Golden Mile models need some airbrush work :cheeky:

Apart from the sounds and 60% less weight, the reason I fitted the Zard was to get the pannier gap on the right reduced so that I can fit modified SW racks that will mount the Trax boxes the same distance from centre on both sides. 1050 Zard

The TOR tune works well with the Zard, smooths out the low rev snatchiness which is a hole in the A/F&Ign map to satisfy EU/SoCal emissions requirements.

The PC sits between the engine sensors and modifies their output to "fool" the ECU, the benefit is that you can unplug it at any time to back to standard, the Tuneboy allows you to access the Triumph map in the ECU to both read and modify them (much better), disadvantage is that it is softkey locked to one bike, if you want to use it on another (sell on) you need to buy another softkey.

Just read a ride report on four street bikes in I think this months Ride mag. S3 came out top against 696, Hornet and I can't remember the other one and cheapest and not even the Type R model, still got it :thumb:
