nice feedback shin.. that helps alot. e sex appeal is e reason why Im looking at the striple. haha those bug eye headlight and humongous exhausts to boot. is the zard legal and pricey?

saw a remus exhaust in youtube and it sounds orgasmic as well.

cheers

I have Zards on my STR, the bike came with them on so I dont know the price. Also with the bike was a confirmation from the LTA that the exhausts are legal. Best to leave the sound dampers/baffles in as its really loud without them, my neighbours would,nt really be happy at 6 every morning.

Hey guys,

What's the price like for a Speed Triple and Street Triple? Any major difference between this 2 besides the cc? Thanx. :)

1 is the big brother and the other is the little brother....check out the triumph uk website, your questions will be answered there in better detail then you can expect from you on this forum.

talkin bout power , i was riding my friends super 4 on PIE last friday ard 6+ pm but i cudnt do anything to safetly catch up with that Green street triple with Zard cans .. n he wasnt even trying didnt hear the bike howl even for a sec. +_+

o_O

comparing the super4 & street is like comparing a daytona675 to a 1198

both are in same category of bikes except the other is about 38% larger in engine capacity.

Going back to the legality of the Zard end cans on the bike, the LTA letter confirms they are ok, but looking at the Zard website on the MAH forum the ones on my bike are race cans and not street legal. Cannot see anywhere on them saying not for street use. As long as the LTA says they are ok its ok with me.

The street legal cans are silver/black aluminium and the race cans have carbon fibre covers. Funny old game. If a Harley can be street legal whilst sounding like a thwaites dumper , my STR is queiter even with the race cans on so no problem.

China Tiger 1050

A first long distance tour at 65 years old, there is hope for me yet

its pretty amazing to run the bike daily for 19,000km on just one set of tyres for the entire journey, 1 set of brake pads replaced and just 1 fuse blew.

i didnt expect the tiger to be so reliable.

a 65yr old man crossing 14 nations, i feel so ashamed. :(

I was just wondering which exhaust produce the most power? I would assume its the arrow full system, but anyone can confirm? I like the Zard slip ons but was told its more comestic then anything else.

Also, can the triple be chipped? Any results to share?

the arrow 3 into 1 isnt legal thou , the Zard n leo vince 3 into 1 are legal , anyway .

Street triple with a modified arrow 3 into 1 ( remove the welded on baffle )!+ race air filter + change the ecu tune

can get close to 115 at the rear wheel

but then u add

+ the daytona race kit velocity stacks

+ daytona race kit hi lift cams

+ daytona race kit cam chain tension er

+ daytona race kit low comp gasket

+ power comander n and one hell of a tune with dot approved race slicks can get erm..

+130 horses at the rear wheel?

after that cant talk bout mid range ,engine life n fuel consumption la

the 675cc engine in the street is the daytona's engine with milder cams to make for a higher torque production lower in the rpms( more the fun for street riding) in terms of tunning for power u can go a looong way since this is a wss bike engine ,

but trust me just ride it stock 1st and youll be amazed at its the sweet mid range pull (from 4k rpm on wards ) that allows this bike to tractor like some 1000cc machine .

thou after 100kph youll never catch a hayabusa ...but at "somewat " street legal speeds you Wont feel its lacking anything.:thumb:

super awesome bike .. anyone whos on the fence should chiong n get it while mah is still giving the offer!!!

after u get then chio me for a ride ! i havent had a chance to ride with other street triples , only speed3 ^_^

The Zard high on the Tiger 1050 with the latest TOR tune will give much smoother slow speed control and an even broader range of torque than the standard set up. less than a third of the weight and it means you can fit equal sized panniers if you modify the right side bracket.

That bike has plenty of power and torque and it's not a sports bike after all but you would embarass quite a few and the sound IMHO is way better than the Arrow, less intrusive on long rides.

Vara is gone but back strain lingers on o_O

I am THIS .. close to buying... lol

115 with ecu tune? Which are the commonly used without issues? I know the warrenty would be void if you touch the ecu rite...

I was wondering, the stock figures are 105 at crank. So what is 118 wheel equal to at crank? What is the power lost like?

If i do buy the triple, i am looking at ard 120crank bhp and ard 85Nm torque without touching the engine. just exhaust, filter and ecu.. possible?

I will just go and view it in flesh and drool over the seat... :cheeky:

I have only heard them on youtube.. so i cant say which is nicer sounding.. recorded sound is always off..

i used to do tat droolin thing at mah all the time :cheeky:

u can easily achieve 105hp at the wheel (which is close to 120 at the crank) with slip on cans(zard, arrow, leo, remus, etc) , air filter and a tor or arrow tune direct from triumph so there no warrenty voided , shiok right?

now tell me which fence u are sitting on , i go find u n push u over ^_^ !

honestly the bike is pretty aswesome as it is , my streetR is pretty stock ,

if u treat me kopi i'll give u a pillion ride! but dont fall off man , i had two pillion almost lose grip holdin on to me wen i gun the throttle :thumb:

Same experience! And I like it! She asked me to go faster. So I did!

At least you have the physical bike to drool over. I had to fantasize over the pictures and videos on the Internet in 2008

BTW it's JIO, not chio :D

Hey KingAbarth,

Just get it lah. Think too much and you'll get sick of it. Want it, buy it, ride it and feel it for yourself! If you are afraid that Street Triple is not hardcore enough for you, get the Speed Triple!! :D
