Hi X-iled Bro,

 

I seriously feel you should had won that competition based on creativity and effort on your bike. I just dont understand how a classic goldwing bike won that. Its just an old STOCK classic bike with no creativity in it at all.

 

I still remember the first step for the competition is " be creative." So where does the creativity lies in the winning bike?? Sigh.. Might as well they changed it to a classic bike competition.

 

Cheers for the " creative judges " judging on the bikes. Maybe they just prefer stock bikes restored and that is creativity to them.

yeah man! they should at least class diff bike into diff cat. Like most vintage bike, most creative bike etc.

if the judges like only restored and vintage bikes then might as well just name it the vintage bike contest instead of best bike competition.

this time round really upset about the judging man. :gun:

Im not against classic bikes taking part in the competition but the winning bike doesnt even look a beauty classic at all unlike the 2 nortons and the Nimbus.

 

Anyway, the judges should really read more on bike customization magazines.

In japan, they did not only restore the classic bikes there, they strip it apart, cut n weld the frame, customize tank, customize handle bar, dats creativity!

Not by just restoring it.

 

Take a look at the winners for 2006, (matt black harley ) 2007, (bro x-iled's bike) These bikes are sure creativity. But this year..., sigh. Im sure ppl are gonna get a shock.

 

Apologies if im being long winded here bros but im just terribly upset with the results and i just wanna let it out here. Can someone post a photo of that winning bike as to share with the ppl here? I dont expect to win at all but judging among the 10 bikes, i really expect bro x-iled's bike to take the trophy.

I agree... Many are old restored bikes... But its okay, the people vote for X-iled, so who cares about the judges? Heheh.

think the scoring system should be 50% made by judge 50% voted by bikers/audiences, as suggested by madman. just like superband.

i went to see your bikes this afternoon.. 2 words for it.. simply unbelievable.. esp the 1 with seperated tanks.. i would take that over any of the ones that entered the competition.. i looked at it for a very long time while my friend was taking pictures of it..

 

i didnt read this thread before going.. but i went there and when i saw the 2 bikes.. i just got that feeling it was done by you.. and i was telling my friend this bike will win the contest..

Was my first time doing the convoy and going for bike fest but was frankly a bit disappointed... Wasn't as interesting as how the pictures of last year's bike fest seem... Too rushed? Location not so good? hmm... hopefully next year will be better

If there is any bike that deserves to beat any of the 2 Riots (which by the way is already -insane-), i think it should be the VMax, followed by raphael's bobber.

 

I'm an oldskool nut, i love them to bits - but to enter best bike contests, i believe they need to be more than just restored to be able to compete competently...

hahaha thanks for the encouragement guys.. doesnt really matter to me wether i win or did not win... for me, i savoured the moment when EL' Toro came into the compound and as what my gf told me... the moment it entered.. ppl from the bus shelter turned heads and walked towards the bike... that my bros .. is priceless and it beats any placement or prize.... hahaha...

 

it seems like i didnt really "lose"... thanks to you guys.. u made me the PEOPLE's CHAMP...wahhahaha... bottom line is.. i;m glad Riot brought a wee bit of colour to the kustom scene in sg.. i'll be back next yr.. watch out for the sudden quietness or lack of activity in this thread... cos when things are getting too quiet......... u guys know what i;m gonna say... whhahaha.

yeah man! RIOT should come out with some tees so as to rise abit of funds for the next project? But make sure the quality is good lah. not that type wash once shrink twice. Im sure there will be alot of supporters out there willing to show their support man!

off all the competing bikes, i din even had a 2nd look nor took a picture of the goldie. not being mean to the owner, its just tt a few other bikes outshines n it definitely belongs in the mall together with the rest of the few bikes from the 70's/80's tts showcased. THEN...perhaps i might agree its the best among the few.

 

deceptikorn: u r wrong to say tt the goldwing is stock... take a look at the radiator mesh... got accessories what(creativity)! maybe the winning factor...hehe... (god forgive me)

but doesnt really matter man.. i'm friends with those bunch of indian guys riding the vintage bikes due to the competetion. Really nice fellas they are and, lol they were really amazed that i actually BUILT the bikes myself..

the vintage bikes in the mall are all owned by the same person. if this is the criteria the bikes are judged by, that guy would have won for at least 5 yrs with all those vintage he owns...

 

bikes should be judged and voted by public i say!
