Gentlemen , i have a huge problem. I got my bike first-hand from AsPh**n

I am rather disturbed by the style of maintaince there. Personally i know not much about motorbikes, but i feel that since i have clocked around 14000km already they should check my caburator, filter and stuff. But never once has the techs opened up my bike to do some checks. The rountine stuff only includes changing of engine oil ,once spark plug. and tighting of chains. thats all. what should i ask the mechs to do?

There's this saying that is a slogan for mechanics....

"If it ain't broke, don't screw with it'.

Mebbe the mechanics there are following this golden rule. Unless your bike is running rough or you are getting poor consumption or performance... leave the carbs alone. The don't actually need much maintenance.

What's really going to be important is to have the engine oil changed frequently or at least as per owners manual recommendations.

Frequent oil changes with cheap non-synthetic oil is better than keeping synthetic oil in for a longer period.

OR you could approach the authorised dealers to do it for you ie. boon siew or hong leong servicing workshop. as long as you are paying, they will undertake any servicing that you request of them. i'm still running in my bike with mineral oil and i did every single oil change/ misc servicing at boon siew. it's just slightly more expensive for certain jobs but engine oil replacement labour charge is almost the same. just bring your own oil if you're not a fan of castrol.

if your manual states that you need to do some timing chain adjustment or carb servicing, bring that manual down to the authorised dealer and tell them you want that done. they will do a good job and not incur additional costs unlike some shady bikeshops in the bt merah area.
