Wow, Peter, you have been riding since 1980. And if you hav been to KL on your VFR1000 which you owns in 1986, where did the NSH starts at that time? Pagoh? Ayer Keroh?

My first trip to KL was in 1988 and at that time, the highway starts at Pagoh.

It seems that every new bike that came out, you bought one.

To: Raptor, now you are the most consistent rider at PG. You are there very week. You want Diablo Corsa? Its around $400 now.

I got my first set replaced in April.

Hi, kiss long time no see how u been keeping?Wow long time ago, the North -South was completed in stages. the first sign of it for us down south was between sedenak and simpang renggam. They build the highway working in a north/south and south/north manner, meeting i think around Tangkak/Pagoh if my memory is correct. Our preference as bikers then was still the old road to KL, on our way to Batu tiga to watch the GP's.

We would have our own mini GP's on the way up as many a Ninja 900,GS1000,GSX1100 and GPZ1100 would do battle all the way from Ulu Tiram,Ayer Hitam,Yong Peng up to Seramban where we would encounter the fastest road of the time the Seramban Highway into KL,where the best stearing damper of the day was a strong left hand on your fork tube.

The best honda i've ridden is the goldwing, the reason being the build quality, the

engine so smooth unbelievable, only reason i sold it was my wife kept falling asleep

on our trips back to KL. The honda i miss the most is the 954,easy to handle at PG

wheelies on demand fantastic big front disc brakes , regret selling.Doubt the next

blade going to be a v5, CBR series all in-line engines,rode a VFr 1000 RR a long

time back used to fight with it on the old road to KL,that time no North/South

highway, still prefer in-line engines, more feel!

The current Cbr 1000rr also a fantastic bike, good high speed corner tracking,

have not realy done much riding time on it,took it once to PG on Pilot Sports

tyres ended up sliding all over the place maybe tyre pressure too high 32psi f/r,

should be more at home in sepang.Planning a trip in a couple of weeks time.

Having long arms a help but the beer belly the problem on the F4, if can get 10

year loan anybody can afford it.Only thing i don't like about the F4 'Where The

Brembo's'.

Why are Honda Sportsbike the best choice for me?It's an all rounder, good for

the track,reasonable riding position,styling,build quality and reliability.These

qualities have been consistant from the time I bought the first blade till present.

Hmm, never ridden a V engine bike before, but I'll take your word for it. Any scientific reason why this is so?

Kiss, you're riding a VFR? Any comment comparing a V engine to an inline 4?

In other news, Ideal has recovered and is riding again. :cheer:

This Sat there will be a ... Engine Oil buying / changing day.

I suggest we park bikes at bike shop around noon, then go for makan while the bike cools down. MotorX opens at 2 pm, we drive there after makan, then go back to bike shop to change oil.

Interested ppl.

I dont really notice any difference, except for the 'good-feeling' sound when you open the throttle. I still ride the same way as before.

Welcome citizen! We all learn from one another.

Just don't go using fully synthetic engine oil to run in your engine. Use high rev run in for that horse power gain!

If you're not too busy, join us tonight or tomorrow.

limpehwah, what does limpeh mean? My hokkien is really terrible, me and someone always laugh at your nick.

Saw a post once, someone kept the rpm low during run in, when dyno-ed, HP figures very low.

Do a google on "motoman usa high rev run in", you should be able to find something useful to read on it.

Go to 2nd link,it's best to do ur 1st few hard run in there.

Some of them changed their 1st oil at 50 or 100 km.

You'll be surprised when u changed ur oil you'll noticed metal specks

in ur oil and it's only 50 km !

Why 2nd link ? It's because the highway there lesser traffic.

As for me , I did the the following intervals for my mineral oil changed.

100,500,1000,1500,2000km (mineral oil)

3000km (fully synthetic oil)

I also changed my oil filter with every oil changed.

Some of them even did their running in on track @ pg !

Well, since it's high rev run in, push all the way till just before red line. Loading the engine in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear should be fine. 1st gear @ 11,000rpm already about 120km/h. Imagine 2nd or 3rd gear.

A word of safety, don't try on S'pore roads.

What our Mr. Ken here did is, he had his bike towed to 2nd link.

Don't have to change oil exactly at 50km. Chilly's intervals are good enough.

However, do note that after this run-in, you should achieve about 80%, the other 20% is through normal usage, so don't switch to fully syn too soon.

If the oil hasn't reached 2500km of usage, pls keep for Raptor. Ahahahahaha.
