LTA haven release my number yet, bike is waiting for me at bike shop

Some useful info for those getting exhaust.

 

Regulations 7 and 20 (1)

 

1. Motor vehicles of the following classes shall not emit any noise exceeding the following levels specified when measured 0.5 metre from the open end of the exhaust pipe of the vehicle:

 

Class of vehicle - Noise level in Decibels (A)

 

(a) Motor cycle (with or without a side car), scooter or trivan - 106

Your info on the accepted noise level is correct but most guys getting summoned for tampering with exhaust systems 1st offence $500/-,second time can go court fine $1000/-.Tampering defined here as removing cat converter material from exhaust,cutting or removing silencer,enlarging exhaust expansion chamber and replacing exhaust system with unapproved system(race).

 

P.S. what was the web site you were telling me about?the place to order the pc3usb for my bike,i forgot.

hi crb1000rr owners, just wondering whether does cbr1000rr uses only OEM plug from honda? and wat's the price of a single plug?

once they can give you a number for your bike means it is already in the LTA system.

 

dun tell me they are still using paper transactions, then all the servers and computer for what.

 

logically LTA have to key in your bike and your info than the system will release a no. to you.

When it 1st arrived in S'pore, it wasn't even sent to LTA for test. I knew the 1st batch were Boon Siew bikes, I called up Boon Siew to find out if they had one sent to LTA or not, when they said they did, I called up LTA every few hours to make sure they had someone to test the bike. My bike shop said they had to thank me, cos of all the chasing up I did, it was approved quite swiftly.

Pete, I don't think I'll be tampering with the exhaust. The exhaust is made to operate in 2 modes. I'm merely switcing from one mode to the other. This is how the pipe is intended, it is made this way. No way am I operating the pipe in any other way that it is not intended to operate in.

 

To begin with, the pipe is LTA approved.

 

Any lawyers here?

 

I checked out that site when I came back last night. It's 600 plus after conversion, excluding shipment. I think your price is still better. If I need to get one, can help?

The manual lists 2 (I think) brands of plugs. You can use either which is according to the specs. Can't remember the specs.
