Ray, sorry, next time ask you. In fact, there's a trip on the 29 May to KL. Wanna go?

No problem, just call me if you go for tea, but not to late.

I remember you asked me the same question as JusJus, when does the power come on. So what's your take after riding the 954?

naa its ok.. may 29th haha i'll be having my short hair and wearing green again (reservist)..

comparing to e others 03 and below, i still find e 954 as a user friendly bike, more forgiving when something happen but it still lack of e sporty feeling that a sport bike should have and e tall handle bar took me sometime to get used to it..

hmmm maybe in 2yrs time we can make a mass order of the 2006 cbr1000 haha

I think you may have ridden different models of bike so you commented on the CBR lack of the "sporty" feeling. Maybe you can share with us what elements that contribute to that sporty factor.

I have only ridden CBR400 Fireblade, VTEC and ZX6R. I think honda bike really is a stable and very precise bike. ZX6R so far I feel it does not maneuvre like honda and it does not give me so much confidence as the honda.

if u ever sit on e r1 or g1.. u'll find that your body are stretch forward cause of the longer handle bar and seat distance.. handle bars are low.. foot pegs are high.. giving u a traditional sport bike feel.. similiar to a gsx400(never have a chance to sit on a babyblade before)..

954 is very different from e rest.. jus like a 929.. your body feel relax with e slightly higher bars, shorter tank and lower pegs.. thought it may not feel like other sportbike and may take sometime to get used to.. it'll still give u very good handling, corner well and stable at highspeed..

haven't tried my dirty hands on tashi's bike so can't comment on e new 'honda wave with turbo' haha.. designed by a different person so thing may change.. sit on e dispaly before.. quite different riding posture from my bike..

tried a few of my friends' 600.. more compact, light, feels like a 400 with tall riding height.. powerful enough to hit highspeed yet smooth..

Thanks for enlightening me with your reply.

Actually riding chimpanzee style is quite uncomfortable. If the bars are closer, higher, less strain. I think Ray will appreciate the riding position after awhile.

The surge on the RR4 comes at 2,500 rpm btw.

Under the rider seat? Probably battery sits there.

Under the pillion seat, I can squeeze in a maglite, my coupon disc, my autoglym aquadry cloth, my autoglym perfect polishing cloth, a small can of chain lube from MotorX, my toolset. Probably can put some more small items as well. But definitely I can't squeeze in a bike cover.

I got a lightweight thin material one, I folded it as compact as possible, squeezed out excess air, and put it in, still can't squeeze it in. Maybe if it's a size smaller, I can do it. Hmmm ...

Would just like to share with the folks here, this rather humerous and off-beat description of Honda's red-blue-white scheme for the CBR1K-04, quoted from the Bike Magazine:

"...The finese of a gazelle, the power of an elephant and the colour of a baboon's arse."

:cheeky:

Personally, the colours are up to the individual's preference. Despite what the magazine said, I believe in getting what you like personally and never mind what others say.
