Accident with taxi

Just had an almost accident earlier, a taxi almost crush me turning left.

1) he's doing a sharp turn, the 1 lane road damn wide

2) no early signal, signal n turn

3) never check mirror or blind spot

4) i'm in his blind spot

 

we were all following a slow L plate car and i'm cutting the row from left slowly, est 40km/h. almost reaching a junction, taxi just turn, n my handlebar scatch his side 4 a while, lucky my balance good, swerve into the left junction. taxi stop after junction, wave hand then come out to see if i'm all right, i was shocked. after he keep say sorry n i told him i'm all right. he went his way n turn left on the next junction n pick up a customer, i'm behind him n he wave his hand.

 

just like to say that i hope there's more such drivers around, responsible, never hit n run, n admit when in wrong.

Hah,lucky of u to meet such good cab drivers...SELDOM will u encounter cab drivers to be so courteous as to come out and say sorry...I have my fair share of close encounters wif cabs....many time almost whack the **** out of the idiot.

Reminds me of an incident a few months back..

I was at a junction juz b4 Lau Pa Sat n lights were RED..

When lights turn GREEN i sped off.. Den out of nowhere a yellow cab bang the left rear of my bike..

I did hear the brakes from e cab b4 e impact.. I dunno how i did it but i managed to control my bike from falling..

Stop a few metres away n the cab stop right behind my bike..

I was fuming mad.. I was shouting to e cabbie

" Wat were u thinking??". The cabbie was calm.. all this while i was checking e damaged done to my bike..

Den he approached me n said " Abang.. U c e arrows on e lane??"

It shows 3 right turn only lanes n i was in e middle..

Conclusion: Im in e wrong.. From being a hooligan i became apologetic.. I said im sorry..

Wat surprised me was how kind this cabbie is..

He was checking if im ok or had any injuries n even volunteered to send me to e hospital FOC..

We took a look at his cab n there were some scratches on the right side of it.. I asked if he wants to claim.. He said with a smile..

"Never mind lah.. A bit scratch only mah.. Next time u ride carefully ok?" He entered his cab.. Wave goodbye at me n drove off..

 

I didnt even get to noe his name or get his plate no....

Wanna show some gratitude at least..

If only there were more kind drivers like him around..

You did the right think by apologising as the cabbie was patient & understanding... (Perhaps he's like one in a million man??!?!) You should've taken his number and send a compliment man...

 

Too often, we take time and effort to grumble about what pisses us off. But how often do we take the trouble to give someone a compliment when they truly deserve it??

Just be careful when u see taxis, few days back a taxi just pull over suddenly to pick up a passenger, if there was or car or bike on his left confirm accident...

 

Just now at 7pm, an NTUC comfort taxi just drove slowly forward out of a side lane into a major road(Bukit Timah), the front of his taxi was sticking out halfway, I nearly knock into his front end. And he had the balls to stare at me like it was my fault....

 

At around 10pm just now a taxi just came to a sudden stop at a road bend to pick up a lady, of all places to stop, he had to stop at a bend??!! When I went past, I looked inside, it was a blur looking uncle.... what a crazy thing to do.

 

Lucky I am driving..... if you ride, be real careful.

if i were you i would email comfort the plate no and wat he said. if u still not happy, pray hard to God that he will meet with an accident.

my bike got kiss taxi b4..

knn taxi insurance claim 3 days rental , 3 days loss of income , repair cost.

last week taxi turn kiss my bike.

so goin to claim them all medical bill , damage etc etc.. don't give chance.

I think the problem is that nobody complains to the companies. If people are constantly writing in with vehicle numbers, date, time and locations, then the companies will have a track record of bad drivers. If that particular driver has a lot of complaints, then the company has an incentive to take action.

 

If everyone just complain in coffee shop, the companies have no records, and we cannot blame them for not taking action. As far as their concerned, their drivers have no bad records.

 

Maybe we should start a campaign to complain taxi driver behaviour. Take every chance to complain.

it's good that u kept ur cool, sometimes both drivers fighting because of small matter.

 

if i were u, just don't bother about these plp. treat it as a lesson to u that u hv to watch out for these plp, n in future u meet them, u won't kenna accident.

 

no need to curse or swear them, if their attitude continue, they sure kenna accident, but hope it's not a bike.
