Actually wats the cheapest....ehh I mean affordable reproduction vintage/classic bike available in S'pore?

To my knowledge, it is Royal Enfield, think ard 8-9k range for a 350cc bike.

Anyone care to contribute??

i ride the royal enfield before. the only thing i can say is 'what u pay is what u get'. i think japanese bikes is still the best :bouncefire:

Haha but (almost) no choice eh, it's quite to difficult to locate the actual old machine these days. I mean people are selling at quite a steep pricing also (i think?), i don't really know the value also if i do stumbled upon either a cb350 or a cb400 haha. Only thing you get from shop is that you could probably trade in your old bike and I supposed installment method?

Hmm.. the easy way out i guess..

W400 is a good bike. If can, buy a new retro bike instead of old bike. No issues on the part at all.

Im considering the cb400ss on a slighty more serious note compared to w400, well because i dont think i've seen the actual thing, so i can't quite visualize whether i'll like it in person. always see pics only haha.

yes, make sure they support those necessary parts, meaing they have those parts in house. If not your bike down and have to wait them to import the parts.

Heard n read abt comments/remarks (mixture of gd n bad) abt RE bikes. Didn't have any chance to ride it myself. Was wondering how bad or good can it get?

Below are jus my 2 cents worth (worthless?) views

Torque/Power > I think not much, but I guess cruising at abt 90-100km/h shldn't be a prob.

Spare parts > Made in India (Originated in Brit) but bad thing, only authorised dealer in S'pore is Universal Motor ....so prepared to be chopped by them!!

Comparison > Sure won't beat any jap bike (I mean reproduction vintage bikes) in anyway

Outlook > Quite ok with it's 'old skool' look though....still got tat bit of head turner capabilities I guess

Dry weight > Quite heavy for a bike with such simple technology....

Fuel consumption > Think can fight with Jap bikes cos of it's simple technology...

Resale value > Low or no one even wanna buy fr u!!! If I remember correctly, for yr 2007, a total of 29 RE bikes were registered with LTA. Tats way too little!!!

Fuel consumption is really good, about 30 per L but power not really there.

30L? Tats quite good. Is tat for the 350 or 500cc bike?

So, in ur own opinion, do u think it's worth it to buy RE bike?

Haha, well I guess as much too.....but jus wanna hear some views fr someone who have rode/own so many vintage bikes (inclusive of RE)....

For me, I like the outlook of RE, but am really worried abt spare parts issues (scared kana chopped by Uni Motors when the need of spare parts arises),and won't be able to sell off the bike when intended.....and lastly, the reliability of RE's engine....

back then i had this colleague who's nephew was chopped by uni for his enfield repair and in the end i think he imported the parts in from india through relatives, way cheaper so yeah..

anwyay guys.. check this out, cb400ss with white wall, awesome!

Cool pic!!! Think the seats are changed/custom also....

Even if one managed to import parts fr India, we still need to find a mechanic who is willing or know how to repair/fix up the RE rite? Dunno if it's easy enuff for any mechanic to do it though (Me noob in technicality of bike)

Hi guys,

How was the turnout on the auspicious 080808 meet-up? Bro Marco, your cb750 freaking awesome....just like how i've always dreamt of owning that same colour. Lets meet up for a drink soon....aniway i was in UK last month and went to the Ace Cafe classic bike meet-up! It was mind-blowing and the sounds of the Tritons (Norton frames and Triumph engines) still ringing in my head, BSA and Royal Enfield and loads of Boni's!

hi guys, any idea where can i get a carburettor for cb175? Its leaking now and i think this is why my bike can't start. I changed spark plugs and stuff already, the plug is firing, there is battery power (N gear light is on) but i cant get the bike to start. Please advice. Thanks!

Hey bro, if you want to find new carb in S'pore - no way man........not even 2nd hand is avaliable.....only if you are lucky wo.

Guess the best bet is "Ebay" for NOS and 2nd hand parts. Or can mob two cg carbs to your bike lor.....

Where is it leaking, is it the bowl?? Maybe your float is out so leaking. But anyway if your carbs is original should not be problem, just remove and clean it up (maybe some orfice or holes got stuck) and change some spares. Dont think carbs get spoilt it only gets dirty unless is super slack.

If you have check your electrical and problem then should be your carb no petrol supply to your engine wo.
