Anyone knows how much is the average cost for modding a classic bike? Am looking at Honda CM125 to convert a café. I've heard of Vicious Cycles... But I have zero clue about pricing. Anyone?

 

A word of advice my friend, before you begin the project..... do make sure that all mods done are reversible and that you keep all the original parts that you have replaced or customised. Café mods look great and many shops do very good customising work. I myself have not done any, but people I have met have very nice café mods, and the CM125 is a nice bike to work on.

 

Do remember the yearly inspections and the patrolling LTA enforcement officers armed with their cameras. Do not change or modify the stock exhaust system or cut the frame, as either one will be an issue. I have a few friends who have has issues at inspection due to the mods. I wish you the best but do take note of all this and do ask questions on this forum as many people have very good advice to offer to guide you along and may well have recommendations for you as well.

Of course it can. Any road bike can be made into a cafe racer. Where to mod i cant recommend cos I DIY. Heeee

Imo, just buy the clubman bars, cafe racer seat, new brakelights on your own and it's done. Maybe the seat need to mod a bit. The rest your own bikeshop can install or get the satisfaction of fixing urself.

Can look for seat and clubman bars at ebay. Then do the cushion at seat repair shop. Buy the custom lights at chong aik. If u willing to spend then i tink the fellas here send to vicious cycles. Maybe bring a pic of wat u want the final outlook to be like.

$1000 should be sufficient to change the bars and seat with some accompanying accessories.

but the problem is always completing the look becos you dont want a frankenstein(neither here nor there) happy modding.

very hard to come by another one. ta200 is not a good base bike to for project...

Yeah man they are indeed hard to come by. Just saw a cb200 up for sale but saw it too late.

 

Anyway hows a ta200 not a good base for a cafe bobber poject though? Ive seen some really nice ones on the road before but then again just minor cosmetic modifactions only though.
