hey marco, the suzuki GSX400FWS is back OTR!! but still got some odd behaviour leiz.

right now, whenever i start up the bike after an hour or so, the bike cannot remain at idle. however after a few minutes of warm up, the bike can idle properly. choke's disengaged.
also,when moving off from start, if i do not rev the bike up to ~4k rpm and release the clutch, the bike will move abit and die off. anyone experienced this kinda thing b4? mech told me that its because of
1. the clutch plates sticking together
2. the first gear's kinda wore out(something wrong with it la)
other gears work fine by the way.

note, my fuelcock is currently turned to prime(fuel keeps flowing) instead of on or res(this need the vacumn hose to work). i cant use the on or res because my fuel **** vacumn diaphragm is spoilt.(if i attach the vacumn hose(from the carb) and turn it to on or res, the carb will be flooded and become airlocked=cant start/run) Will this affect the bike in aniway since the vacumn hose is not in use?

ani idea on this? thanks.

haha...the thing is just come out of shop la.damn hard to find parts. anyway, hope the problems undo itself as the miles pile on. works for some ang mohs. haha...thegsresources.com helps alot. quite a number of similar engine configurations btw gs550es and gsx400fws. even the carbs are similar(cept for a vacumn tube.)

This bike has been on the road in India since the middle of the last century. It's been used by the Indian police for decades, and it's probably the only bike in India which can handle the bad Indian road conditions, potholes, rain, etc without a shudder.

Made by Enfield India. All the latest Bullets are variations of the same tried and trusted 350cc model. There's a 500cc model as well.

I know people who've been using their Bullets for 15-20 years now.

any classic kawa riders out there? z1, z900 or z1000 from the late 70's to early 80's?

would love to get my hands on one.

Kawa Z1, Z1A, Z1B and Z1900A4 all have 4 into 4 exhaust systems and only 2remain on our roads ( or so I have been informed ) both in private collections somewhere on the island. Z1000A from 1977 got better chance.

Look for Michel Chong of Kallang Cycle as there are 2 Z1000A's outside his shop rotting away. Many missing parts but bike is for sale at least. If you buy, do the restoration work or reassembly somewhere else as this bike shop makes a lot of empty promises and WILL NOT complete the work for you. Some bikes have been there for years in pieces here and there and parts get lost regularly.

Aiya, we are all into classic/vintage bike mah, big or small bike,jap or brit all the same,got their own characters, all one family...same hobbies My xlr2 still going strong,ride to work everyday,dnt intend to spent much on tis bike cos purely for daily transport only. Hope to see u next gathering bro....

You must be joking man, i know what a k or rx115 can do man, used to sit around my father shop's neighour, in the early 80's racing was the in thing man, they would strip down k like a bicycle. And would also see the neigbour's body bruises and abrasion in all parts of the body.
