how do u guys try to prevent such petty theft?

The only way to prevent is to fix an alarm ultra sensitive 1. and cover yr bike and activate the alarm! Thing this is the only best idea to deter them lah, but if he is those cheapo desperado......no use! haha

i'm new here and planning to get a sports bike. just pass my tp.

what do u use to cover ur bike? (to prevent it from getting stolen etc)

so far i've only seen uncles using huge groundsheets with clothes pegs all over and the leather-looking-zip-all-over ones on fierce bmw bikes.

Hi Jiasheng at the open space carpark below my block there's a SP without the centre piece fairing but recently I found the owner with a few friends

spraying his fairing to white colour(originally is red base with black wings) but now the whole is white in colour with a centre piece fairing replaced...The bike is

parked at Jurong West St 81 , Blk817 ... The group of india guys always go out

in a group during late night 1 to 2 plus... Could the piece of fairing be yours ??

Let the good times roll .

bro.. jus to remind u if u have a ultra sensitive alarm, covering ur bike wit bike cover when wind blow will trigger.. and actually covering of bike i don reli recommend cos my house downstair got one black bird cover liaoz that day rainin very heavily and guess wat?? the bird went sleeping on the floor... main stand somemore ar...

one more thing to add on... even if u have the most advance equipment, u will never stop a persistance thief frm stealin... there is no absolute prevention.. so bear in mind.. it doesn't mean that if u watch crime watch, it can prevent u frm being rob... jus pray lor..

so i suggest buying a alarm is enough... no offence dude.. personal opinion...

You have no idea where this guy got his fairings from and you shouldn't post such things. Think kinda of dumbarse action can result in a totally innocent persons bike being vandalized through an assumption alone based on coincidence.

I'm wondering what the general view of this action is.

I've had a number of cashcards stolen due to my forgetful nature.

However when I commented to a friend he said it's like leaving a $10 note on my seat.

If this is the case is it any worse to steal a barpad that's not locktied down?

Or a headlight from a KTM that is connected with the stock 2 rubber mounts?

Or fairings that can be removed with 2 or 3 screws?

Where do we draw the line?

I'm getting really tempted to set a "trap" one of these days so I can release some built up tension.

Here is what I encountered.

Parked my bike properly and finish putting on my bike cover.

Took a look around the bikes beside me and saw this old Ah pek bike with the key dangling in the ignition. A cashcard was also attached to the key.

It was just there staring at me.

A few thoughts were in my mind,

1) Check the cardcard value?

2) Just take the cash card and walk off?

3) Just leave the keys and cash card in the ignition?

4) Help the owner hide his keys and cashcard?

I was standing there dazed with these thoughts.

In the end, I hide the whole bunch of keys and Cashcard in the bike and walked off.

How would u react if you were there?

Posted

I've seen this once before also in my carpark.

I removed the keys and card and placed them in a more hidden spot and hoped the owner would realize.

I've also returned to my bike to find the card hidden carefully from view before.

Thanks to that kind soul!

i've lost no less than 6 cash cards in the past years that i've been riding... even to the point of having it stolen at my own MSCP.... but i blame it on myself cos i always forgot to take the cash card out.

it's as bad as taking a handphone that someone left in the public toilet, taking the coupon on the next bike tats w/o license plate nbr written on it, stealing s4 brake calipers or even a whole bike in Malaysia. IT IS STEALING. but the difference is: we are careless as to leave a small item unattended.

for cash card, we just have to be more careful lor.......

I've only mentioned "Could the piece of fairing be yours ?" Just in case he really have some suspects in mind...

The word "dumbarse" is it referring to me ?? If yes I would like to have a meet up with you as I'm only trying to help and in return I've been insulted by you !!! No

i oso keep 4get to take out in the past yrs end up keep get stolen.. the best idea i can tink of is not to top too much amount in the cash card..example i top $2 everytime(FYI petrol kiosk can top any amount)..so even when the cashcard is lost..max i lost is $4..compare to a $20 card..i find at least not so heart pain rite?

Posted

i would juz ignore and pretend the keys dun exist in the first place..

so that the next person who see it will ignore the way like i do..

I think the solution is to get one of those cashcard reminders where there will be a beeping sound if you park your bike without taking out your cashcard.
